The present invention provides a field weldable connection. In one embodiment, the field weldable connection is a downhole connector assembly for sealingly attaching a first and a second segment of a control line. The control line has an outer housing that encapsulates a polymeric secondary housing. A communication line runs therethrough the secondary housing. The connector further comprises a weld coupling welded to the outer housing of the first and second segments of the control line. To protect the communication line from the thermal radiation and heat generated during the welding process, at least one reflective sleeve replaces a portion of the secondary housing at a location intermediate the communication line and the welds of the coupling.

Field weldable connections

An apparatus includes a weld coupling and a thermal insulator. The weld coupling is adapted to be welded to an outer housing of a first cable segment to couple the first cable segment to a second cable segment. The thermal insulator is adapted to prevent thermal damage to a communication line of the first cable segment when the weld coupling is welded to the outer housing.

The present invention provides a method for remedying minute seal leaks in downhole tools and equipment. The various embodiments of the present invention utilize pressure activated liquid sealants stored in local reservoirs to remedy such leaks.

A vehicle, such as a truck, includes mixing and pumping equipment for mixing a liquid and a particulate material (e.g., cement) and for pumping the mixture. One application is to pump the mixture into a wellbore for cementing a casing or liner to the wellbore inner wall. The vehicle includes a cab, with the mixing and pumping equipment positioned behind the cab. The equipment includes one or more reservoirs, with at least one used as both a mixing and displacement tank. A hose assembly is also positioned on the vehicle. To reduce the weight load placed on the rear axle(s) of the vehicle, relatively heavy components, such as the pump, are placed further forward on the truck. In one arrangement, the pump may be placed between the cab and the one or more reservoirs.
