Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for time division duplex configuration override. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes detecting a period during which a configuration of a first radio access technology (RAT) conflicts with a configuration of a second RAT for a frequency band; and overriding the configuration of the second RAT with the configuration of the first RAT for the period.

Time division duplex configuration override

A user equipment (UE) can connect to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) new radio (NR) dual-connectivity (EN-DC) network using both a Long Term Evolution (LTE) anchor link and a 5G NR non-anchor link. The UE shares RF chain components (e.g., antennas) between the LTE and NR links. The UE uses various techniques for controlling or modifying NR sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions and/or LTE operations to avoid interruption on LTE operations due to NR SRS transmissions.

Mitigating RF chain conflict between radio access technologies in wireless communication

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may operate in a dual-connectivity (DC) configuration, and may measure signals from more than one radio access technology (RAT). The UE may receive a first signal power for a first RAT and a second signal power for a second RAT. The UE may determine a common gain state for the first RAT and the second RAT based on the first signal power and the second signal power. The UE may then apply the common gain state to a first receiver chain within the UE for the first RAT and to a second receiver chain within the UE for the second RAT, where the first receiver chain and the second receiver chain share at least one shared low noise amplifier (LNA).

Common automatic gain control across multiple radio access technologies

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine whether a slot timing difference, between a first cell and a second cell for a dual connectivity mode, satisfies a threshold value, where the first cell is a serving cell associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and the second cell is a serving cell or a candidate cell associated with a second RAT. The UE may perform an operation to prevent the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, establish the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, maintain the dual connectivity mode with the second cell, or terminate the dual connectivity mode with the second cell based at least in part on whether the slot timing difference satisfies the threshold value. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for protecting shared low noise amplifiers by limiting transmission power. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes determining that a transmission by the UE on a frequency band via a first radio access technology (RAT) overlaps in time with a period that the UE is configured to receive on the frequency band via a second RAT; and limiting transmission power on the first RAT during the period.

Protecting shared low noise amplifiers by limiting transmission power

Examples described herein relate to enhancing data communication performance in a wireless communication network including a first subscription associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) and a second subscription associated with a second RAT, where the wireless communication device uses a same radio frequency (RF) resource to communicate over both the first RAT and the second RAT. The first RAT is used, in part, for data operations while the second RAT is used, in part, for voice operations. During idle state voice operations, the RF resource is reallocated from performing data operations to performing idle state voice operations, causing interruptions in the data operations. The wireless communication device adjusts at least one or a duration and an occurrence of the idle state voice operations to reduce the impact on the data operations.

Enhancing data performance in multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) wireless communication devices

A system and method for reducing power consumption in a mobile communication device is disclosed. The device may have multiple subscriber identity modules (SIMs), wherein each SIM is associated with a subscription. The method may include measuring received signal strengths from one or more cells for use with a first subscription. The method may also include sharing the search results for use with a second subscription. The first subscription and the second subscription may be associated with the same or difference cells and radio access technologies. The method may also include refraining from measuring the received signal strengths of the one or more cells for use with the second subscription, based on the search results.

System and method for sharing measurement results in multi-SIM devices

The present disclosure describes a method and an apparatus for pruning false peaks during slot synchronization at a user equipment (UE). For example, a method is provided to identify a plurality of first peaks associated with a primary-synchronization channel (P-SCH) received at the UE and a plurality of second peaks from the plurality of first peaks. Further, one or more pruning locations along with associated energy thresholds for each of the plurality of the second peaks may be determined and whether a peak of the plurality of the first peaks is a false peak is identified based on whether the peak is located at one of the one or more pruning locations of the peak and an associated energy value of the peak does not satisfy the associated energy threshold of the pruning location. Furthermore, the peak identified as the false peak is discarded.

Various aspects of the disclosure provide a method of operating a user equipment (UE) to determine and report a throughput enhancing channel quality indicator (CQI) value when a physical channel between the UE and a base station is temporally uncorrelated. Reporting such CQI value may maximize the throughput of the channel when it remains temporally uncorrelated. In one aspect of the disclosure, the UE communicates with a base station utilizing a channel and determines that the channel is temporally uncorrelated. The UE further determines a plurality of CQIs in a first CQI reporting mode and computes the respective throughputs of the channel based on the plurality of CQIs. In addition, the UE selects a CQI of the plurality of CQIs corresponding to the highest throughput among the plurality of throughputs, and reports the selected CQI to the base station in a second CQI reporting mode while the channel remains temporally uncorrelated.

The control channel is configured to transmit control information and includes both transmission time slots and non-transmission time slots. The data channel is configured to transmit data packets. The present disclosure presents a method and apparatus for regaining service at a user equipment. For example, the disclosure presents a method for receiving a neighbor cell list from a serving cell, and scanning to identify target cells by the user equipment, wherein the target cells include neighbor cells included in the neighbor cell list and detected cells not included in the neighbor cell list. In addition, such an example method may include determining that the user equipment cannot successfully camp on any one of the neighbor cells, and attempting to camp on one of the detected cells. As such, an improved method and apparatus for regaining service at a user equipment may be achieved.

Disclosed are systems and methods for controlling by the User Equipment (UE) downlink power in early decode termination mode. In one aspect, the UE may be configured to perform early decoding of a downlink (DL) transmission from a base station. The UE further configured to estimate a signal-to-interference ratio (SIRE) of the DL transmission. Based on the SIRE, the UE is configured to select a Transmission Power Control (TPC) command sequence for a low power mode of operation of the UE in which a receiver is powered down. The UE is further configured to activate the low power mode and transmit the selected TPC command sequence to the base station to adjust a DL transmission power during the low power mode.
