Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may switch the set of antennas that the UE uses to transmit sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions. For example, the UE may switch from transmitting first SRSs that conflict with a scheduled communication from a first set of antennas to a second set of antennas (e.g., that is, the conflict may be at the first set of antennas). The UE may be transmitting second SRSs using the second set of antennas, and the switching may cause the UE to transmit the second SRSs using the first set of antennas instead. The second SRSs may not conflict with the scheduled communication (e.g., due to using different resources than the first SRSs), which may enable the UE to transmit the second SRSs and the scheduled communication using the same first set of antennas.

Enhancing throughput performance in multi-sim modems

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for merging pages in communications systems using carrier aggregation (CA) or secondary component carriers (SCCs). An example method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes: operating in a connected mode using a default data subscription (DDS) associated with a primary cell (PCell); detecting one or more secondary cells (SCells) associated with the DDS are configured for operating in the connected mode; and decoding one or more paging messages using at least a secondary component carrier (SCC) associated with a first SCell of the one or more SCells.

Paging enhancements for single-SIM and multi-SIM devices

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may be configured with multiple bandwidth parts (BWPs) and may support multiple subscriber identification modules (SIMs) (e.g., may operate in a multi-SIM (MSIM) mode). The UE may tune away from a default data SIM (DDS) subscription for a tune away gap and may miss any downlink signaling, such as an indication of a BWP switch, for a duration of the tune away. To avoid latency resulting from such missed downlink signaling, the UE may support a mechanism according to which the UE may autonomously switch to a different BWP despite a missed command from a network entity. Such a mechanism may include transmission of a scheduling request (SR) on each of multiple BWPs configured for the UE and monitoring each of the multiple BWPs for signaling responsive to the SR.

Control mechanisms for bandwidth part switching for multiple subscribers

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating power savings while monitoring for paging messages and wakeup signals are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving an indication of an active BWP associated with an ON duration of a DRX cycle. The example method also includes monitoring a first bandwidth for a WUS at a WUS occasion of the DRX cycle, the first bandwidth corresponding to a subset of the active BWP. The example method also includes transitioning to an awake state for the ON duration when the WUS is received at the WUS occasion.

Techniques to facilitate power saving while monitoring paging and wakeup signals

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may determine, that the UE is registered for a voice-over wireless local area network (WLAN) service; and forgo, based at least in part on determining that the UE is registered for the voice-over WLAN service, waking up to perform a long term evolution (LTE) idle-mode operation, wherein the LTE idle-mode operation includes monitoring for a page during a paging occasion. Techniques and apparatuses for long term evolution idle-mode and enhanced multimedia broadcast and multicast service concurrency operation

Apparatuses and methods for a wireless communication device having multiple Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in which a first SIM is associated with an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) subscription used for IMS services. The method includes but not limited to, attaching the IMS subscription to a first cell of a packet-switched cellular network, determining a cause of IMS voice service being not currently available at the IMS subscription, determining availability of a wireless local area network (WLAN) connection at the IMS subscription, and providing voice service at the IMS subscription based on the cause of IMS voice service being not currently available and the availability of the WLAN connection at the IMS subscription.

Voice rat selection in multi-SIM devices

Disclosed are methods and apparatuses for providing notifications in a communication network of a plurality of Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In an aspect, a supervisor device in the communication network detects a notification directed to a wireless mobile device in the communication network and sends at least one instruction to at least a first IoT device of the plurality of IoT devices to reduce an operating volume or suspend operation of the first IoT device. The first IoT device receives the at least one instruction from the supervisor device and reduces the operating volume of the IoT device or suspends the operation of the IoT device in response to the at least one instruction.

Smart notifications between devices

An apparatus may communicate with at least two networks. The apparatus may be configured to opportunistically decode a channel from a first network and a channel from a second network in order to receive data from both networks. The apparatus may determine whether first data carried on a paging channel (PCH) is decodable from a subset of slots that carry the PCH. The subset of slots may be included in a set of slots that carry the PCH. When the PCH collides with a physical multicast channel (PMCH), the apparatus may decode second data carried on the PMCH instead of the first data when the first data is determined to be decodable from the subset of slots that carry the PCH, and decode the first data instead of the second data when the first data is not determined to be decodable from the subset of slots that carry the PCH.

System and method for decoding data carried on colliding channels

Embodiments described herein relate to extending an awake period (on duration) or an inactivity timer duration in a Connected Discontinuous Reception (CDRX) mode for a first subscription based on activities of a second subscription. A method according to some embodiments includes determining that the awake period of the CDRX cycle associated with the first subscription collides with the activities of the second subscription, and extending the awake period by an extended awake period in response to determining that the awake period collides with the activities of the second subscription. In addition, a method according to some embodiments includes determining that the inactivity timer duration collides with the activities of the second subscription, and extending the inactivity timer duration for an extended inactivity timer duration in response to determining that the inactivity timer duration collides with the activities of the second subscription.

Connected discontinuous reception (CDRX) management in multi-subscriber identity module (SIM) wireless communication devices

Apparatuses and methods for a wireless communication device having multiple Subscriber Identity Modules (SIMs) in which a first SIM is associated with an Internet Protocol (IP) Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) subscription that supports IMS services. The method includes but not limited to, determining that an IMS activity has completed at the IMS subscription, and determining whether a timer for a scheduled IMS signaling exceeds a time threshold. The timer indicates a time duration until performing the scheduled IMS signaling as scheduled. The method further includes, in response to determining that the timer does not exceed the time threshold, performing the scheduled IMS signaling and releasing a connection for the IMS subscription.

Radio frequency resource management by preponing scheduled activities

A method for wireless communication by a wireless communication device is described. The wireless communication device determines that the wireless communication device is in a limited service state. The wireless communication device camps on an available cell in response to the limited service state determination. The wireless communication device monitors a synchronization channel from the available cell at a reduced rate than a rate used for a full service state.

Operation in limited service state

The present disclosure presents a method and an apparatus for searching for service when a multi-mode UE goes out of service (OOS). For example, the disclosure presents a method for receiving a request to scan frequencies of a RPLMN of a first RAT and scanning the frequencies of the first RAT based on an acquisition database (ACQ DB). In addition, such an example method, may include sending an available PLMN list to the NAS layer, switching to a second RAT based on a request from the NAS layer, scanning frequencies of the second RAT based on the ACQ DB, and camping on a frequency of the second RAT found during the scanning of the frequencies of the second RAT based on the ACQ DB. As such, a method and an apparatus for searching for service when a multi-mode UE goes OOS may be achieved.
