A magnetic linear drive has a coil in whose interior the current can produce a magnetic flux in an axial directions, having an armature which can move only at right angles to the axial direction and which has a magnetically active part which is magnetized, in particular, parallel to, but in the opposite direction to, the axial direction. The armature is driven by a current surge which accelerates the magnetically active part toward the coil center irrespective of its initial position.

Magnetic linear drive

The invention relates to a magnetic bearing assembly of a rotor in a stator, with at least one magnetic bearing ( ) comprising a stator part ( ) and a rotor part ( ) arranged coaxially thereto in the operating position without contacting the stator part. The bearing effective area of the rotor part is formed by a radial exciting system ( ) having a permanent magnet ( ), while the stator part ( ) comprises a high-temperature superconductor concentrically surrounding the radial exciting system ( ) while maintaining an annular air gap ( ). For increasing the specific rigidity of such a bearing, it is proposed according to the invention that the high-temperature superconductor is divided in at least two HTSC partial shells ( ) which, after the transition into the superconducting state, can be displaced against one another by an actuator ( ) in the radial direction from a position in the hot state of the bearing, in which each HTSC partial shell ( ) has a first radial spacing ( ) from the radial exciting system ( ), into a working position with a second, smaller radial distance (operating gap ( )from the radial exciting system ( ).

Magnetic bearing assembly

An electromagnetic accelerator arrangement includes a stationary arrangement including at least one stationary primary coil, and a movable arrangement including at least one moveable secondary coil. The planes of the stationary and the moveable coils are parallel to a direction of movement of the moveable arrangement. The coils of the stationary and the movable arrangements have approximately the same coil width in the direction of movement of the moveable arrangement and transversely thereto, as well as the same coil separation in the direction of movement of the moveable arrangement. The at least one stationary primary coil includes at least two layers between which the at least one secondary coil of the movable component is movably disposed, the distance between the layers being kept small transversely to the direction of movement of the moveable arrangement.

Electromagnetic accelerator in flat coil arrangement

An electrical machine, which may be designed as a rotating machine or as a linear drive, includes a stationary part having an odd number multiphase winding (preferably five or seven phases), and a movable part separated from the stationary part by an effective gap. Each pole of the movable part includes two pole portions which diverge from each other in the direction away from the effective gap and between the end regions of which at the effective gap a magnetically non-conductive separating gap is provided which is greater than the effective gap. In such a machine, which is characterized by a permanent excitation in the movable part, there is provided between the proximate pole portions of each of adjacent poles a respective permanent magnet, the direction of flux of each permanent magnet being directed oppositely to the direction of flux of each adjacent permanent magnet. Each rotor pole portion may be formed of a plurality of pole laminations the planes of which are oriented either transverse to or in the direction of motion of the movable part, the laminations being separated by non-magnetic spaces, and at the face of each rotor pole adjacent to the effective gap a magnetically effective enlargement of that gap is provided which extends over at least one slot pitch of the stationary part.
