A LED package () for use in a lamp as well as a method for manufacturing such kind of a LED package () are disclosed, wherein the LED package () comprises at least one LED (), an optical element () for guiding light emitted by the LED (), and a cover () for covering, at least partially, electrical components () connectable to the LED (). The cover () includes three protrusions () that form the highest points on the package. The protrusions () abut a surface in a housing for accurately positioning the LED package relative to a lens () in the housing. The LED package () may be spring-loaded. Side protrusions () of the cover () additionally help to position the package within the housing.

A LED package () for use in a lamp as well as a method for manufacturing such kind of a LED package () are provided, wherein the LED package () comprises at least one LED (), an optical element () for guiding light emitted by the LED (), a cover () for covering at least partially electrical components () connectable to the LED () and at least one optical detectable reference mark (), wherein the optical element () comprises at least one first optical detectable mark () and the cover () comprises at least one second optical detectable mark (), whereby the optical element () and the cover () are arranged and aligned both with respect to the same reference mark () by means of the first mark () and the second mark (). Due to the same reference () for both the optical element () and the cover () manufacturing tolerances are not added to each other so that the accuracy of a correct arrangement is increased. Thus, the LED package () provides an improved optical performance, particularly an improved brightness and an improved luminous flux.

LED package and method for manufacturing the LED package

The invention describes an adapter part () for a modular lighting assembly () comprising a number of light-emitting diodes () mounted on a separate base part (), which adapter part () comprises a number of first electrical connectors () arranged to connect the light-emitting diodes () to an external power supply; at least one electrical component () arranged in a body of the adapter part (); and a number of second electrical connectors () arranged to connect external circuitry to an electrical component () arranged in the body of the adapter part (). The invention also describes a method of assembling such a modular lighting arrangement (), comprising the steps of connecting a first adapter part () according to the invention to a separate base part (); choosing a number of electrical components () on the basis of an application requirement of the modular lighting arrangement (); and arranging an electrical component () in the adapter part () such that an electrical connection is formed between a contact surface of the electrical component () and a second electrical connector () of the adapter part ().

Modular lighting assembly adapter part

An LED package including a collimator body adapted to collect and/or reflect and/or focus light. An upper plane provided by the collimator body defines a mainly horizontal plane. At least one reflection surface is provided by the collimator body and is at least partially angled to the horizontal plane. The collimator body includes a recess for receiving a lighting element including a light emitting front face such that the reflection surface extends at least partially below the level of the front face in an assembled state. Due to the angle of the reflection surface with respect to the horizontal plane of the collimator body, a small light source and a high luminous flux at the same time are provided so that the luminance and the brightness of the LED package are increased.

Collimator

It is provided a lamp assembly () for an automotive headlamp, comprising an LED () for emitting light rays, a housing (), to which the LED () is detachably connectable, wherein the housing () comprises an entrance window () assigned to the LED (), and a guiding element () for guiding the light rays passing through the entrance window (), wherein the guiding element () is connected to the housing (). Since the LED () is detachable connected to the housing () a defect LED () can by exchanged by only exchanging the LED () itself without exchanging the whole lamp assembly () including the housing () and the guiding element (). Since the correct position of the bright/dark-cutoff may be provided by the entrance window () and/or the guiding element () only, a misalignment of a newly inserted LED () does not affect the correct position of the bright/dark-cutoff. The exchange of a LED () is facilitated and without affecting the correct position of the bright/dark-cutoff.

Lamp assembly

The invention describes an LED lighting module () comprising an LED element (), an electronic driving arrangement () for driving the LED (), and a heat sink (). The heat sink () forms a casing for the electronic driving arrangement () and comprises a receptacle interface () on a front side (F) of the heat sink () with a number of first reference elements () for coupling the LED element () to the heat sink () in a defined orientation. The heat sink further comprises a cavity () for enclosing at least parts of the electronic driving arrangement () and a number of second reference elements () for coupling the LED light module () to a secondary optic (').
