A device for controlling the temperature of, and in particular for drying, objects, in particular vehicle bodies, having a housing which integrates a temperature-control chamber that includes at least one air outlet and at least one air inlet. The temperature-control chamber is assigned at least one heating unit in which it is possible to generate a hot primary gas flow and to which it is possible to supply, from the air outlet, air that is to be heated. The heating unit includes a heat exchanger device into which the hot primary gas can be guided and in which it is possible to heat air from the temperature-control chamber using hot primary gas, which air can be supplied, as heated recirculation air, in a circuit via the at least one air inlet back to the temperature-control chamber. The heating unit includes at least a first and a second flow outlet via which heated recirculation air leaves the heating unit.

Device for controlling the temperature of objects

An apparatus for treating articles, in particular vehicle bodies, with at least one tempered, directed air jet comprises a housing, in which are formed a treatment chamber and at least one pressure chamber, which is separated from the treatment chamber by a partition wall. The tempered air is suppliable to the pressure chamber and may then flow as a directed air jet into the treatment chamber through a nozzle device, which penetrates an opening of the partition wall. The nozzle device is insertable from the treatment chamber into the partition wall and fastenable from the treatment chamber to the partition wall. Consequently, subsequent work on the nozzle device, in particular an exchange thereof, may be carried out more easily.

Apparatus for treating articles with at least one tempered, directed air jet

The invention relates to a dryer for objects, in particular for motor vehicle bodies (). Known dryers comprise a drying tunnel (), located within an insulated housing (), a number of nozzles () being arranged in the lateral walls () of said tunnel. These nozzles are used to direct hot circulatory air against the objects (). The circulatory air is extracted from the drying tunnel () by means of extraction openings () below the objects () and is supplied to two air chambers () located at the sides of the drying tunnel (). The circulatory air is extracted upwards via said chambers with the help of fans (). A heat register () is located in each of the two air chambers () and is aligned in a substantially vertical direction, said registers consisting of a number of intercommunicating pipe sections that are traversed by hot primary air and are surrounded by the circulatory air. The circulatory air that is heated in this manner is supplied to air distribution chambers (), which are located on the pressure side of the fan (), are adjacent to the lateral walls () of the drying tunnel () and which communicate with the internal chamber of the drying tunnel () by means of the nozzles ().

Dryer

A drier for a lacquering line in a known manner comprises inside a drier housing a plurality of drier sections, in which heated circulating air is circulated with the aid of fans. Heating of the circulating air is effected with the aid of a heating unit, which is common to all drier sections, and a common fresh-air heat exchanger, which is disposed downstream of the heating unit and to which fresh air is supplied from the environment via a pressure regulator. The fresh air heated in said manner is directed via branch lines to the individual drier sections. The quantity of heated fresh air supplied and hence ultimately the temperature in the respective drier section is determined by control flaps in branch lines, which connect a common fresh-air distribution line to the respective sections. There may be connected in parallel to said control flaps, which convey hot fresh air, control flaps, which at least partially convey cool fresh air and are controlled in the opposite direction such that the total fresh air quantity flowing through a parallel pair of control flaps remains constant. The drier according to the invention is inexpensive and easy to maintain. Its style of construction means that in and around the drier housing there is a lot of space free, which in prior art was occupied by a plurality of heating units and heat exchangers associated with the latter.
