On a two or multi-stage turbine, expansion rings are provided in all stages at the sides of the rotors for passive, continuous running gap control whose thermal expansion and contraction behavior corresponds to that of the rotors and which are connected to radially moveable upstream and downstream stator vanes (). The downstream stator vanes are assembled to the upstream stator vanes via a bridge () which is axially and circumferentially fixed and located flexibly in the radial direction on the outer casing () of the turbine. The stator vanes () arranged between the rotor disks are integrally connected to the bridge or, as separate components, held axially and circumferentially on the bridge to take up rolling and tilting moments.

Arrangement for the automatic running gap control on a two or multi-stage turbine

A gas turbine with several shroud segments () which enclose rotor blades () of a turbine wheel () as a seal, with the shroud segments () having at least a front and a rear attachment at the radially outward area of stator vane segments (), and with each of the stator vane segments () being located at their radially inner area on a control ring (), wherein the stator vane segments () are located on the control ring () in a radially adjustable manner.

Gas turbine with running gap control

A turbine shroud segment attachment with a casing () and several shroud segments () arranged in the casing (), wherein the individual shroud segments () are located in the casing () with a circumferential clearance () between the individual shroud segments (), in that the clearance () is reduced to zero at a given temperature difference between the casing () and the shroud segments (), and in that the shroud segments () are retained on the casing () by way of an elastically deformable locating arrangement.

Turbine shroud segment attachment

A bladed rotor and surround assembly comprising an annular casing, a bladed rotor element that is rotatable about an axis concentrically within the casing, and an annular shroud liner. The shroud liner, typically made up of an annular array of circumferentially abutting shroud liner segments, is disposed within the casing in an annular radial space defined between the casing and an outer circumference of the bladed rotor. The shroud liner segments have location members to locate each segment within the casing. The location members and the annular radial space are configured to enable axial insertion of the shroud liner segment between the bladed rotor and the casing. In addition the location members and the annular radial space allow a limited amount of radial translation of the shroud segment during insertion. The location members also provide a positive radial location to prevent radial translation of the shroud segment once each shroud segment is in a final assembled position.
