A method for the treatment of air of a compressed air system for a motor vehicle, the compressed air system comprising an air compressor, an air dryer and an ambient temperature sensor, wherein an exchange operation of a system air volume is performed by the air compressor, wherein during the exchange operation a part of the system air from the compressed air system is released into the surroundings and ambient air is filled into the compressed air system. The method includes determining a current ambient temperature value (T) using the ambient temperature sensor, checking a first condition, whether or not the current ambient temperature value (T) is lower than a temperature limit value (T), and performing the exchange operation to lower the dew point of the system air by the air dryer if the first condition is satisfied.

A method of controlling a suspension system for a vehicle which comprises determining a first filter vehicle height based upon a signal from at least one sensor located at a rear axle of the vehicle at a first time. A method for controlling or regulating a level control system for a motor vehicle including a compressed air source, at least one air spring, a switchable directional control valve associated with the air spring and a master line connecting the compressed air source to the switchable directional control valve. The switchable directional control valve blocking the master line in a normal state thereof and connecting the master line through for filling the air spring in a switching state thereof. The master line is filled with compressed air before filling the air spring until the air pressure in the master line is at least equally as high as a predetermined threshold value, and only thereafter is the switchable directional control valve transferred into the switching state for filling the air spring. Level control system and method for controlling or regulating a level control system

The invention is directed to a method for operating a level control system of a motor vehicle which includes: a control apparatus, sensors for the direct or indirect determination of the distance of the vehicle chassis to the axles of the vehicle wheels; and, actuators for adjusting the distance of the vehicle chassis to these wheel axles. In the method, the control apparatus checks in a desired-actual comparison based on determined measured values whether the inclination of the vehicle chassis exceeds predetermined limit values. When these limit values are exceeded, one or several of the actuators are actuated in order to obtain a level compensation in the sense of a horizontal alignment of the vehicle chassis. To avoid a turnover of the vehicle () in an operating situation on a slope (), the level compensating control activity is prevented by the control apparatus when the vehicle () is disposed in a slope and slant position (angles &#x3b1;, &#x3b2;) which is impermissible for vehicle safety.
