The invention relates to a control device () for a drive unit () of a vehicle windshield wiper system () comprising at least one wiper arm (). The control device () is designed to determine a load quantity (L) of the drive unit () and to set the wiping frequency (WH) of the wiper arm () on the basis of the ratio of the load quantity (L) to at least one load threshold value (LS). Furthermore, the control device () is designed to set the wiping frequency (WH) depending on the current speed (v) of the vehicle.

Control device and control method for the drive unit of a windshield wiper system

The invention relates to a device and a method for actuating a wiper system. The device comprises a drive unit () for driving at least one wiper arm (), and a control unit (), wherein the control unit () is designed to set a wiping frequency of the wiper arm () as a function of a load variable which is dependent on the torque which is to be applied by the drive unit () during a wiping operation.
