Locking mechanism at an electrical connection assembly

A connection assembly having a first connector and a second connector which can be connected to or disconnected from one another by being adjusted along a longitudinal axis, wherein the first connector comprises a first housing which is provided with an elastically deformable locking arm comprising an end connected to the first housing and a free end, as well as a first stop; the second connector comprises a second housing which is provided with a second stop; the first stop and the second stop are designed in such a way that when the two connectors are being connected to one another, they cooperate in such a way that the elastic locking armtemporarily experiences an elastic deformation and, that, after the connected position has been achieved, it experiences an elastic return movement; the second housing comprises a first tunnel portion with a tunnel axis, into which first tunnel portion the locking portion, in the connected condition of the two connectors, projects at least partially, which first tunnel portion, at least at one end, is open along the tunnel axis and in which there is arranged the second stop; and which first tunnel portion is associated with a freely oscillating tongue which comprises an end connected to the second housing and a oscillatory end, wherein the elastic return movement of the locking arm which is pre-tensioned when the first connector is being connected to the second connector, causes the tongue to oscillate, thus generating an airborne sound emerging from the first tunnel portion.

Connection assembly

A cable connector for electrically conductingly connecting a plurality of separate cables which each are provided with an insulation and an electrical conductor, comprising a connecting sleeve which forms a longitudinal axis), which is continuously open along the longitudinal axis which, along the longitudinal axis, comprises, at a distance from one another, a first open receiving portion and a second open receiving portion, which comprises a connecting portion which is arranged between the two receiving portions, wherein the first receiving portion of the connecting sleeve serves for receiving at least one first cable which is received therein with a first seal being connected therebetween, wherein a bared first conductor portion of the at least one first cable projects into the connecting portion, wherein the second receiving portion of the connecting sleeve serves to receive at least one second cable which is received therein with a second seal being connected therebetween, wherein a bared second conductor portion of the at lest one second cable projects into the connecting portion overlapping with the at least one first conductor portion of the at least one first cable by means of an overlapping portion, wherein the connecting portion, in a plastically deformed way, presses together the bared conductor portions of all cables.

Cable connector

Connection element for the electrically conductive connection to the lamp holder of a main headlamp

Electrical contact comprising a contact element, which has a connection portion, which serves for the electrical conducting connection to an electrical conductor, but a contact holding portion connected integrally to the connection portion, for contacting a counter contact, and a support element, which encloses the contact holding portion at least at a portion of its length along a longitudinal axis and formed in cross-section as a hollow rectangle delimited by four walls, has along the longitudinal axis a front end and a rear end facing the connection ports. Electrical contact

An improved electrical connector. The connector includes a first connector () having a housing () for receiving first contact elements () and a slider () slidably disposed on the housing () for receiving second contact elements (); a second connector () for receiving first counter contact elements () and second counter contact elements (); and a retainer () which allows displacement of the slider () such that the second contact elements () secured thereto contact the second counter contact elements () only when the first and second connectors are completely connected together by a locking device. During mating the first contact elements () and first connector contact elements () become fully engaged, but no current flow occurs. At this stage, springs () act to move the slider () forwardly to cause second contact elements () which move with the slider to engage second counter contact elements () to switch on current to contact elements () and to block release of lock arm ().

Connector especially for an airbag-ignition system

Connection between a cable end piece and a cable end

A female terminal for receiving a flat male terminal with a terminal tab (), having a rectangular cross-section and a predetermined width (B) and thickness (D). The female terminal includes a contact element () having two elastic contact tabs () approaching each other along a longitudinal axis (), the contact tabs opposing contact zones () for contacting the terminal tab (); a hollow, rectangular support element () defined by four walls (), enclosing the contact element () and in which the elastic contact tabs () are accommodated; and a device () for electrically connecting a conductor. A first pair of opposing walls () cover the contact tabs () and a second pair of opposing walls () have an elastic locking tab () connected thereto. The elastic locking tabs () engage between the elastic contact tabs () and hold the contact zones () of the contact tabs in a pre-tensioned and contact free manner at a distance (A) from each other, which is smaller than the thickness (D) of the terminal tab (), in a condition in which the flat male terminal is not inserted. The locking tabs () have a free distance (C) therebetween before the insertion of the terminal tab (), which is smaller than the width (B) of the terminal tab () and the locking tabs () contact the terminal tab () in the inserted position along the longitudinal axis () in a contact area which is off-set further from the first end () of the support element () than the contact zones () of the contact tabs ().

Female terminal for a flat male terminal

A connector housing has a longitudinal axis and includes a first housing portion, having a front end face and a rear end, and at least two accommodation chambers extending parallel to the longitudinal axis, and receiving respectively an electrical contact element, and having a connector tab. The accommodation chambers have, respectively, an insertion opening for a mating contact element and an exiting opening for the connector tab, open to the front end face. An elastic locking arm is provided for each accommodation chamber for retaining the contact element in the accommodation chamber. A second housing portion is formed integrally with the first housing portion and forms an accommodation chamber, into which a portion of a housing of a mating connector can be inserted. The second housing portion has contact elements having female contact terminals, which can be electrically connected to the contact elements. A short-circuit bridge, made from an electrically conductive material, is retained in the first housing portion and includes for each contact element an elastic contact arm. The contact arms are connected to each other and serve to contact the connector tabs. In an initial position, a front holder supports the contact arms in the lifted position and in the final position leaves these unloaded, so that these can contact the connector tabs.

An electrical contact element including a base element () formed from a flat material with a high electrical conductivity and includes a conductor contact portion (), a base portion () integrally connected to the conductor contact portion () and formed box-like defined by an upper wall () with an opening (), a bottom wall () arranged opposite to the upper wall () and two side walls () connecting the upper wall () and the bottom wall (), and a flat terminal pin () integrally connected to the base portion () and extending away from the conductor contact portion () and having two vertically arranged pin portions (). The contact element also includes an elastic retaining element () formed from a sheet spring steel and including a flat pin-reinforcement portion () arranged between the two pin portions (), an intermediate portion () extending from the pin-reinforcement portion () and abutting an inner side of the bottom wall (), and an elastic retaining portion () angled relative to the intermediate portion () and projecting out of the opening () and forming a support edge ().

Electrical contact element

The invention relates to a male connectorfor connecting to a female connector, which female connector housing has on its outer face at least one retaining projection. The male connectorcomprises a male connector housingwith an elastic locking armwith a locking strut. The male connectorhas a sliderarranged to, which is displaceably held on the male connector housingin an axially limited way. In the locking position the sliderprevents a deflection of the locking armand releases the same in a position different thereto. Compression springs, supported on the male connector housingand on the slider, act on the sliderfor taking up its locking position. An elastic retaining elementmade from round steel, is mounted on the slider. In the relaxed condition of the spring leg, the retaining elementcontacts the end faceof the female connector housing. By means of abutting a releasing face of the male connector housingthe retaining element is brought out off contact to the end face of the female connector housing.
