An IDC branch connector comprises an IDC connection section positioned on a central carrier strip. Strain relief sections extend from either side of the carrier strip such that a wire terminated to the IDC section is securely held on either side. The IDC section comprises first IDC slots positioned between second larger IDC slots such that a large range of wire sizes can be terminated thereto. The branch connector is overmoulded by an insulative housing, whereby the carrier strip can be maintained between a plurality of connector modules depending on the number of wires to be interconnected.

IDC branch connector for large range of wire sizes

A set of electrical terminals is provided for interconnecting and grounding electrical leads of a harness, for example an automotive engine harness. Each terminal comprises two spaced pairs of spring beams defining a pair of aligned, insulation displacement slots for receiving a common electrical lead. The spring beams of each pair are defined by a pair of juxtaposed loops. The loops of all of the terminals are connected together to provide a cage-like structure by a front wall, a rear wall and a base. One end of each loop is connected to the front wall and the other end of each loop is connected to the rear wall. Lead strain relief ferrules project rearwardly from the base and the rear wall in a single row in closely spaced relationship. The rear wall is secured to the base by means of a flange which has been struck out from the base and which engages over a neck connecting one of the ferrules to the rear wall. A plurality of the sets of terminals may be connected by carrier strips and disposed in the separate housings which are latched together in modular form.

Grounding electrical leads

An insulation displacement contact for engaging an electrical lead, wherein the contact has opposing contact arms and each arm includes a cutting surface followed, along the direction of insertion of the lead, by a contacting surface, both surfaces being arranged opposite the corresponding surface on the other arm, where the resiliency of the arms at the cutting surface is less than the resiliency of the arms at the contacting surface. The structure enabling reliable insulation parting, assures an effective interconnection with a conductor over time, and enables a wider range of conductive cores to be accommodated.

Insulation displacement contact terminal

A circular sensor connector has terminals to make contact between an internal printed circuit board and conducting wires. In order to obtain a cost effective and compact configuration, the plurality of identical terminals are disposed in a radial manner around the printed circuit board whereby contact arms having an arcuate contact profile, project towards the printed circuit board and make contact therewith.

Catalytic converter sensor connector

A terminal receptacle for receiving a pin or tab therein has a resilient contact portion which prevents the terminal from experiencing frictional corrosion. The receptacle (11) has a receiving portion (17), a mounting portion (19), and a central portion (21). Spring slots (23,25,27) are provided on the central portion (19) thereby allowing the central portion to move resiliently in directions parallel and perpendicular to the axis of the receptacle.

Receptacle for a connector

An electrical connector is disclosed having pin terminals positioned within an insulating housing where the terminal includes a cylindrical contact portion having an inner diameter formed at which carries a plastic cylindrical bead. The terminal also includes a serrated portion positioned within a converging bore portion of the housing passageway. A printed circuit board can be positioned against the lower portion of the housing and when wave soldered causes the serrated portion to form corresponding grooves in the housing through hole and causes the plastic bead to melt and fill the seam between the edges of the serrated portion.
