The invention relates to a method and a device for manufacturing a pipe shell from an insulating material by means of which the cycle times can be further reduced while the quality of the pipe shell is simultaneously improved, by at least one web () of the insulating material which is provided with a binding agent being wound around a core () by means of at least two opposing belts () which wrap around the core () partially. The method steps are characterized in that the at least one wound-up web () of insulating material is removed in a radial direction of the core () which is, however, not opposite to the direction in which the at least one web () of insulating material was fed by the one belt (), especially by the wound-up web () being discharged through the same belt ().

Method and device for manufacturing a pipe shell from an insulating material

The invention relates to a process for producing pipe sleeves made of mineral wool for insulating pipelines or for reducing the sound level in pipeline systems, comprising the following steps: providing a nonwoven web () made of mineral wool which is provided with an uncured binder, winding up the nonwoven web () on a winding mandrel () of a winder, curing the binder. Here, at least one reinforcing layer () is provided before the nonwoven web () runs into the winder, in such a way that during the winding the said reinforcing layer becomes a constituent part of the pipe sleeve produced as a result.
