A connector includes a housing defining a first receiving space and a second receiving space, a conductive electrical connecting element arranged in the second receiving space, a retaining element engaging around at least portions of the electrical connecting element and a contact-securing insert arranged in the first receiving space. The conductive electrical connecting element includes a contact sleeve adapted to connect to a contact pin, and an electrical contact adapted to connect to an electrical conductor. The contact-securing insert fixing the electrical connecting element and the retaining element within the housing in an axial direction of the electrical connecting element.

A contact device includes a contact housing and a contact element. The contact housing defines a contact receptacle and a latching receptacle opening into the contact receptacle. The contact element includes a contact body arranged within the contact receptacle and extending in a longitudinal direction and adapted to contact a mating contact of a mating contact device, and a latching spring connected to the contact body on a first end and extending along a spring axis into the latching receptacle. The latching spring has a stop inclining obliquely with respect to the spring axis and abutting a face of the latching receptacle and a recess formed through the latching spring at first distance from the stop face.

Contact device and method for producing the contact device

A ribbon cable connector is fixed at an end of a ribbon cable. The ribbon cable has a plurality of electrical conductors extending parallel and distanced to one another. The ribbon cable connector includes an insertion slot extending in a plugging direction and receiving the ribbon cable, a plurality of contact element receptacles extending parallel and distanced to one another, a plurality of structures in the insertion slot extending parallel to one another and aligned with the contact element receptacles, and a clamping device configured to clamp the ribbon cable in the insertion slot. An end of the insertion slot inside of the ribbon cable connector adjoins the contact element receptacles in the plugging direction. The structures are each separated from one another by a partition wall.

A contact assembly for an electrical connector is provided and generally includes a plurality of first contact bodies and a plurality of second contact bodies. The plurality of first contact bodies include contact surfaces that provide a first contact plane. The plurality of second contact bodies include contact surfaces that provide a second contact plane that is spaced apart from and projecting beyond the first contact plane by a height. The plurality of second contact bodies are elastically deflectable to the first contact plane.

Contact assembly

A pin contact for an electrical connector is disclosed having a contact body and a pin. The contact body is formed from a metal sheet and has a mating end, a pin receiving space and an offset wall. The pin receiving space extends inward from the mating end. The offset wall has at least one welding region, and an outer surface facing away from the welding region and accessible from the outside. The pin is positioned in the pin receiving space and projects out of the mating end. The pin is welded to the welding region.
