In producing C-Colefins, in particular propylene, from an educt mixture containing steam and oxygenates, such as methanol and/or dimethyl ether, the educt mixture is reacted in a reactor on a catalyst to a reaction mixture comprising low-molecular olefins and gasoline hydrocarbons, which in a first separating device is separated into a mixture rich in Colefins, a mixture rich in Cgasoline hydrocarbons, and an aqueous phase. To increase the yield of propylene the mixture rich in Cgasoline hydrocarbons is supplied to a second separating device, in which the aromatics contained in the mixture are separated. The residual stream largely free from aromatics is at least partly recirculated to the reactor.

The present disclosure relates to a method and apparatus for producing dimethyl ether by catalytic dehydration of methanol and by distillation of the dehydration product. The method is characterized in that the catalytic dehydration takes place in at least two reaction stages which are connected in series and of which at least the first reaction stage is operated adiabatically, wherein a cooling of the reaction products takes place at least between the first and the second reaction stages.

Method for producing dimethyl ether and device suitable therefor

A reactor is described for the production of Cto Colefins from gaseous oxygenate and HO and one or more material flows containing CC, C, C, C, Colefin and paraffin at 400&#xb0; to 470&#xb0; C., wherein several reaction stages which the material flow can pass through from the top to the bottom, each consisting of a support base with a catalyst layer situated on it, are arranged in a closed, upright container. In order to be able in each case to lower the temperature of the reaction mixture leaving the reaction stages before it enters into the next reaction stage, it is provided that each support base consists of cells which are placed closely next to each other with no gaps and which are securely attached to each other and filled with catalyst, and in the space formed by two neighboring reaction stages, respectively, an assembly of nozzle tubes is installed for spraying a liquid phase containing HO and DME and/or MEOH, using a water-saturated gas phase containing mainly DME and/or MEOH, in the direction of the following reaction stage downstream.

In a method for the production of propylene, a charge stream containing Cto Colefins is evaporated, superheated, mixed with hot water vapor, the olefins vapor mixture converted on a zeolite catalyst, the reaction mixture formed thereby cooled, and then partially condensed. In order to increase the yield of propylene, the gaseous phase containing ethylene, propylene, Cto Colefins, and additional hydrocarbons that is accumulated during the partial condensation is compressed, the gaseous and liquid phase containing propylene, ethylene, and other light hydrocarbons that exit from the compression step is separated into a gaseous phase containing propylene, ethylene, and other light hydrocarbons and a liquid phase containing C+ olefins, and the liquid phase is separated into a fraction containing Cto Colefins and a fraction containing C+ olefins.
