A brushless motor with integrated position sensor is provided. The brushless motor includes a motor housing, a stator assembly positioned on an inside outer circumference of the motor housing, a rotor assembly positioned within and surrounded by the stator assembly, and a position sensor integrated within the rotor assembly.

The landing gear actuation system includes an attachment point integral to a movable member, a flexible pull member having a first end coupled to the attachment point, and a motor configured to move the flexible pull member, wherein the movement of the flexible pull member moves the attachment point and the movable member.

A hydraulic fluid system is disclosed herein. The hydraulic fluid system includes a hydraulic motor including an output shaft, a reduction gear box having a first side and an opposing second side, the reduction gear box being coupled to the output shaft at the first side and coupled to a reduction shaft at the second side, and a magneto-rheological fluid brake (MRF) brake coupled to the reduction shaft.

A landing gear actuation system is disclosed herein. The landing gear actuation system includes a trunnion sprocket coupled to a movable member, a drive motor, and a flexible drive member extending between and to the motor and the trunnion sprocket. The motor is configured to move the flexible drive member, wherein the movement of the flexible drive member moves the trunnion sprocket and the movable member. The flexible drive member may be a belt or a chain.

Systems and methods for landing gear actuation via trunnion drive

A method of operating an electromechanical actuator includes coupling an inner portion of a split ball screw with an outer portion of the split ball screw, rotating the split ball screw about an axis to drive a ball nut in a first axial direction, in response to a failure mode of the electromechanical actuator, decoupling the outer portion of the split ball screw from the inner portion of the split ball screw, and translating the outer portion of the split ball screw and the ball nut in a second axial direction.

Electromechanical actuator disconnect

A hydraulic fluid system is disclosed and that utilizes a hydraulic motor or gear pump and a magneto-rheological fluid (MRF) brake that is interconnected with an output of the hydraulic motor. The MRF brake may utilize a rotatable rotor that is disposed within a magneto-rheological fluid and that is interconnected with an output (e.g., a rotatable output shaft) of the hydraulic motor. An electrical control signal may be provided to the MRF brake (e.g., to a magnetic coil) to adjust the viscosity of the magneto-rheological fluid, and thereby a braking torque exerted on the output of the hydraulic motor.

A landing gear includes a strut and an electromechanical actuator coupled to the strut. The electromechanical actuator includes a motor assembly, a ball nut, a split ball screw disposed between the motor assembly and the ball nut, and an actuator release assembly coupled to the split ball screw.

The present disclosure provides an actuator assembly having a ball nut comprising a helical track and a ball screw. The ball screw of the actuator assembly includes a first translation bearing track having a first diameter, wherein the helical track and the first translation bearing track form a first translation bearing raceway in which a first translation bearing ball is disposed. The ball screw further includes a second translation bearing track having a second diameter, wherein the helical track and the second translation bearing track form a second translation bearing raceway in which a second translation bearing ball is disposed. The first diameter and the second diameter are not equal.

A hybrid actuator, having a central longitudinal axis, may include a housing defining a central cavity. The hybrid actuator may also include a piston disposed within the central cavity, the piston comprising a piston head that divides the central cavity into a pressure chamber and an annular chamber. The piston houses a pump configured to pump fluid through a port defined in the piston head between the annular chamber and the pressure chamber to extend a piston rod of the piston from the central cavity, according to various embodiments.

A ballscrew assembly may comprise a ballscrew having an axially distributed ballscrew groove about an interior circumference of the ballscrew, an extended top plate having an axially distributed extended top plate groove disposed on an outer circumference of the extended top plate, and an axially distributed thrust bearing. Further, a ballnut assembly may comprise a ballnut having an axially distributed ballnut groove about an interior circumference of the ballnut, an extended top plate having an axially distributed extended top plate groove disposed on an outer circumference of the extended top plate, and an axially distributed thrust bearing. Further still, a ballnut assembly may comprise a ballnut having an axially distributed ballnut groove about an outer circumference of the ballnut, an extended top plate having an axially distributed extended top plate groove disposed on an interior circumference of the extended top plate and an axially distributed thrust bearing.

Ballscrew assembly

An electromechanical actuator may include a motor assembly and a ball nut. A split ball screw may be disposed between the motor assembly and the ball nut. The split ball screw may have an inner portion and an outer portion. The inner portion may interface with the motor assembly. The outer portion may interface with the ball nut. A pin may be configured to engage with the inner portion and the outer portion of the split ball screw to couple the outer portion with the inner portion.

A mechanical linear actuator in an aircraft brake may include a ball nut, a ball screw, and an actuator drive unit housing. The ball screw may rotate to drive the ball nut axially. The ball screw and the actuator drive unit housing may form a series of annular raceways. The ball screw may have a first window corresponding to a first raceway and a second window corresponding to a second raceway. Balls may be inserted into the first raceway through the first window and into the second raceway through the second window.

The present disclosure provides an electromechanical actuator comprising an actuator drive unit housing, a relief formed in the actuator drive unit housing, a column defined by the relief positioned adjacent to a second relief, and a load cell comprising the column and a strain gauge coupled to the column.

An integrated actuator drive unit (ADU) assembly for an electric motor actuator is disclosed. The integrated ADU assembly may comprise at least one of an integrally formed ring gear, an integrally formed thrust bearing and integrally formed load cell. The integrated ADU assembly may comprise a portion of an electromechanical actuator. The electromechanical actuator may be utilized for aircraft braking systems.

Integral actuator design

A park brake system for an electric motor actuator is provided. The system may comprise a wrap spring that may rotatably engage the shaft. In this regard, the system may be configured to exert a radial force on a shaft of the electric motor actuator to lock the actuator. Moreover, in various embodiments, the system may be bi-stable.
