Step-by-step mechanism

The seat adjustment mechanism has a housing with an outer ring and an inner ring. The rings are arranged concentrically. Clamping bodies interact with double clamping ramps on the rings and are arranged in an annular space between the rings. Spring supports pivot in relation to each other, interact with a stop on the housing, are arranged concentrically with the rings, and engage in each case both in the annular space and in an inner space arranged radially within the inner ring. The spring supports are braced in relation to each other by a spring, which is arranged in the inner space to secure the clamping bodies in the center of the double clamping ramps. Stop surfaces of the spring supports are acted upon by a force in the direction in which they are minimally spaced apart.

Adjustment device, especially for adjusting a seat in a motor vehicle

The present invention concerns a clamping roller switch gear ( ) whose drive element ( ) can be displaced in opposite directions out of an idling, initial position by actuation of a pivoting lever ( ). A driven element (coupling ring ) of the clamping roller switch gear ( ) and the drive element ( ) define, together with opposing clamping surfaces, wedge-shaped clamping gaps ( ) that taper in opposite directions. Switchable silent ratchet

A clamp-type locking mechanism has a driven element rotatably arranged with respect to a holding element and having ramps which together with a track of the holding element define clamping gaps for receiving spring-loaded clamp rollers. An adjustment element is swingable to a limited extent with respect to the driven element and provided for rotation in unison with the driven element, with the adjustment element having engagement members for moving the clamp rollers out of their clamping gaps. Located between the driven element and the holding element is a friction device for transmitting a friction moment. In order to maintain a correct friction moment during wear of the friction device, a spring mechanism is provided by which the friction device is biased with its friction surface against the holding element.

Clamp-type locking mechanism

A shiftable clamping-type locking mechanism, includes two track-defining elements and a plurality of clamping members, e.g. rollers or balls, arranged between the tracks of the elements and so spring-biased as to seek a clamped position. The clamping members are shiftable by a control unit from the clamped position into a release position in which the clamping members are liberated from the tracks so that the two elements can be freely moved relative to one another. A coupling unit positively connects the two elements to one another in order to prevent an undesired slip between the elements.
