The disclosure relates to a variable valve drive of a combustion piston engine with at least one gas exchange valve per cylinder, wherein each valve stroke is specified by a primary and secondary cam and transmitted to the gas exchange valve via a switchable cam follower that includes a primary lever and a secondary lever. The primary lever is in contact with the primary cam, and the secondary lever is in contact with the paired secondary cam and can be coupled to the primary lever by a coupling element. The coupling element includes a coupling pin, a locking pin, and an unlocking pin. Axially outer ends of the locking and unlocking pin protrude out of the secondary lever and are coupled to a shift rod via respective connection elements, the shift rod being longitudinally movable out of a rest position into a shift position by a linear actuator.

Variable valve drive of a combustion piston engine

A variable valve train with at least two functionally identical gas-exchange valves per cylinder, having primary cam and a secondary cam generated valve strokes that are transmitted by a switchable cam follower selectively to the gas-exchange valves. The respective cam follower has a primary lever in tapping contact with the primary cam and in switching contact with the gas-exchange valve and a secondary lever that is in tapping contact with the secondary cam and is coupleable with the primary lever by a control pin. The respective control pins are connected by connecting elements to respective first and second elongated switching elements, which are arranged above the cam followers parallel to the camshaft and are displaceable longitudinally by a linear actuator from a home into a switched position. The control pins of the cam follower of functionally identical gas-exchange valves are in switching connection with a respective one of the first and second elongated switching elements for common movement.

Variable valve train of an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a variable valve drive of an internal combustion engine, comprising at least one functionally identical gas exchange valve per cylinder, the valve stroke of which is specified by at least one primary cam and at least one secondary cam of a camshaft. The valve stroke can be selectively transmitted to the at least one gas exchange valve by a switchable cam follower which has a primary lever and a secondary lever. A coupling element of the switchable cam follower is designed as a coupling pin which is guided in a transverse bore of the primary follower, which can be moved into an opposite coupling bore of the secondary lever by a switching pin. An outer end of the switching pin is connected to a switching rod via a connecting element, the switching rod arranged parallel to the camshaft and longitudinally movable by an actuator.

A sliding cam valve train for an internal combustion engine is provided. A cam piece () displaceably arranged on a carrier shaft () includes a cam group () with differing cam lifts and an axial groove with two groove tracks (), which are arranged completely behind one another in the circumferential direction of the axial groove. An actuator pin () which may be introduced into the axial groove displaces the cam piece in the direction of both groove tracks. Each of the groove tracks end with a radially lifting ramp () for extending the actuator pin from the axial groove. The radial lift of the exit ramps should be significantly smaller than the groove base depth of the axial groove between the exit ramps.

A valve drive of an internal combustion engine with variable-lift gas exchange valve actuation. The valve drive has a camshaft with a support shaft and a cam piece arranged on the support shaft for conjoint rotation therewith and to be movable between axial positions. The cam piece has two cam groups of directly adjacent cams with different elevations and, on the end side, the cam piece has an axial slotted guide into which can be coupled an actuating element. The cam piece has a bearing journal which runs between the cam groups and rotatably mounted in a camshaft bearing point arranged in a positionally fixed manner in the engine. Here, the diameter of the bearing journal is larger than the envelope circle diameter of a cam closest to the bearing journal with the cam and camshaft bearing point overlapping axially in an axial position of the cam piece.

The cam carrier has a cam group () of directly adjacent cams () with different cam strokes and an adapter end () on which the sleeve is mounted. The sleeve has a setting groove () in the form of a groove that extends across an extent of the sleeve and that is used for the specification of an axial setting groove track for an activation pin () moving the cam part on the carrier shaft. The setting groove is produced in the sleeve through non-metal-cutting shaping of sheet-metal material.

Camshaft for a variable lift valve train of an internal combustion engine

A valve drive of an internal combustion engine, which has a reciprocating poppet valve and a spring element which impinges the closed reciprocating poppet valve with force against the action of a valve seat. The force characteristics are substantially independent of the lift characteristics of the reciprocating poppet valve. The spring element is part of a snap-in locking device, which is stationarily mounted in the engine and surrounds the valve stem of the reciprocating poppet valve. The snap-in locking device has snap-in elements arranged in the power flux between the spring element and reciprocating poppet valve. The snap-in elements are supported in the direction of closure of the reciprocating poppet valve on a snap-in surface of the valve stem when the reciprocating poppet valve is closed and on a snap-in surface of the snap-in locking device when the reciprocating poppet valve is open.

An internal-combustion engine with a device for adjusting the rotational angle (camshaft adjuster ()) of a camshaft () relative to a crankshaft is provided. The device comprises a driving wheel () connected in a rotationally locked way to the crankshaft, a driven part () connected in a rotationally locked way to the camshaft (), and an adjusting mechanism, with which the phase position between the crankshaft and camshaft () can be set and maintained in a certain range of angles. A reduction of the required axial structural space of the camshaft adjuster () and the number of individual parts is achieved in that the driven part () is fixed to the camshaft () with a frictional, positive-fit, or interference-fit connection.

Valve engine

A valve train with cam switching used for intermittent control of a four-cycle internal combustion engine. The valve train comprises a splined shaft, one cam block per cylinder, and a housing-mounted actuator pin. On each end of the cam block is a cylindrical end piece and a mirror-symmetric displacing groove. A housing-mounting actuator pin inserts radially into each displacing groove. The cam block reciprocates axially through the cooperation of the actuator pins and the displacing grooves when the engine is running. Low wear of the valve train and a high switching speed are achieved due to the fact that the displacing grooves possess an accelerating flank with an impact ramp that results in a constant, low initial axial speed of the cam block and a feeble impact force of the actuator pins.
