The present invention relates to phage isolates having a strong lytic activity against pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae such asand/orstrains and their use in various human or pet food products for the treatment or prevention of bacterial diseases caused by pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae such as, in particular for phage therapy of pediatric gastroenteritis, orinfection. It also relates to human or pet food products prepared thereof.

Isolated phages and their use in food or pet food products

The invention relates to anbacterium which is resistant to attack by at least one bacteriophage, a method of production of the bacterium and a composition which comprises the bacterium. The bacterium comprises a modification of the Sfi21 prophage or the bacterial genome which disrupts expression of a gene which is essential to a bacteriophage, but not essential to the bacteria.
