A method and device for one-click filmmaking are provided. The method includes: obtaining a script from a user, detecting a single user operation, in response to the single user operation, obtaining a plurality of shots and estimating information of the plurality of shots based on the script, and automatically generating a film based on an auto-cinematography algorithm and the estimated information of the plurality of shots. The estimated information of one of the plurality of shots comprises at least one of a character of a shot, a scene of the shot, one or more positions of the character in the shot, a duration of the shot, or a shot type.

One-click filmmaking

A script-to-movie generation method for a computing device includes: obtaining a movie script; generating a list of actions according to the movie script; generating stage performance based on each action in the list of actions; extracting observation information from the stage performance; using a camera agent trained with a reinforcement learning algorithm to select a camera based on the observation information, where the camera includes camera setting that defines a position of the camera with respect to a character for which the camera shoots; using the selected camera to capture a video of the stage performance; and outputting the video.

A method for generating speech animation from an audio signal includes: receiving the audio signal; transforming the received audio signal into frequency-domain audio features; performing neural-network processing on the frequency-domain audio features to recognize phonemes, wherein the neural-network processing is performed using a neural network trained with a phoneme dataset comprising of audio signals with corresponding ground-truth phoneme labels; and generating the speech animation from the recognized phonemes.

A method of generating video in three-dimensional animation environment is provided. The method includes: obtaining and translating directorial hints for making a 3D animated movie based on user input; determining camera configurations in a 3D environment according to the directorial hints; establishing a camera search space that includes multiple candidate cameras to be used at different timestamps to shoot one or more scenes of the movie based on the camera configurations; performing editing optimization based on the camera search space and the directorial hints, to obtain an edited video. The editing optimization is formalized into a process of finding a path with minimum cost in a graph model, each path describing a candidate camera sequence for producing the movie, and at least some of the directorial hints are translated into cost functions of the graph model. The edited video is output as the produced 3D animated movie.

A method for making a zoomable user interface for a television (TV) comprises the steps of: assigning a plurality of tags to a video title; collecting tags of a plurality of video titles of a video group; building a tag-relationship map based on a relationship of the tags, wherein the tag-relationship map represents a hierarchical structure of the tags in the video group; building a plurality of tag trees based on the hierarchical structure of the tags; calculating each total distance of each of the plurality of tag trees, wherein the total distance of the tag tree is a sum of distances from a root node to all nodes in the tag tree; and displaying the zoomable user interface having a minimum value of the total distance of the tag tree.

A privacy reserving camera including a frame buffer, an object detection and tracking module, an object identification module, an instance segmentation module and an object removal and inpainting module. The frame buffer stores frames of a video stream captured by the privacy preserving camera. The object detection and tracking module detects a moving object in the video stream. The object identification module determines whether the moving object is a privacy protecting object. The instance segmentation module parses the moving object in the video stream. The object removal and inpainting module removes at least a portion of the moving object from the video stream, fills an area of the removed moving object in the video stream with a compensated patch from a neighbor frame of the video stream, and outputs a modified video stream having at least a portion of the moving object replaced with the compensated patch.

A method is provided for recommending a desired func sequence schedule to a user. The method includes obtaining at least one user intention inputted by the user; creating a func sequence including a plurality of funcs for fulfilling the user intention; and determining user preference on scheduling of the plurality of funcs in the func sequence. The method also includes determining a dependency relationship among the plurality of funcs in the func sequence; and determining scheduling constraints to the scheduling of the plurality of funcs in the func sequence. The method further includes, based on the user preference, the dependency relationship, and the scheduling constraints, performing an optimization process to determine a desired schedule for the plurality of funcs in the func sequence to fulfill the user intention; and recommending the func sequence with the desired schedule to the user.
