An electrical assembly includes a system board and a power board closely arranged with each other in a parallel relation. An electronic package and a system connector are mounted upon an upper surface of the system board. A power connector and a set of connector units are mounted on an undersurface of the power board. Another set of connector units are formed on an upper surface of the electronic package. A heat sink is positioned upon the power board and contacts the electronic package via a center opening in the power board. After assembled, the power supply is provide through connection between the two sets of the connector units and that between the system connector and the power connector.

Connection between parallel system board and power board

An electrical connector assembly, adapted for electrically connecting an IC package to a printed circuit board, includes a first housing used for soldering on the printed circuit board and a frame surrounding the first housing. The first housing includes a longitudinal body and a protrusion projecting forwardly from the body. The frame defines a base and two supporting arms extending from two ends of the base, each supporting arm defines a latching bent from a top edge of a free end thereof for locking the protrusion of the first housing. The electrical connector assembly includes a longitudinal holding member, the holding member has two ends respectively connecting to the free ends of said two supporting arms so that the dimension of the opening formed between the free ends of said two supporting arms is fixed.

An electrical connector assembly, adapted for electrically connecting an IC package or module to a printed circuit board, includes a metallic bracket surrounding a stationary electrical connector which is mounted upon the printed circuit board. A module equipped with another electrical connector is positioned upon and removably assembled to the stationary electrical connector. A locking/ejecting member is pivotally mounted upon the bracket to releasably lock the module in position. A retention lever is pivotally mounted upon the bracket to prevent the locking/ejecting member from inadvertently or mistakenly unlatching the locking member from the module.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing defining a base portion and a mating tongue forwardly extending from the base portion, and a plurality of terminals insert molded in the housing. Each of the terminals defines a horizontal portion with a contacting section exposed upon the mating tongue, a tail portion bending out of the base portion, and a retaining section disposed between the horizontal portion and the tail portion and fully embedded within the base portion without exposure. The horizontal portion is provided in a rectangular shape, and at least a portion of the retaining section is provided in a round shape to provide good waterproof function with lower cost.

An electrical connector assembly includes an insulating housing, a jumper element assembled in the insulating housing and a bracket located at the outside of the insulating housing. The insulating housing includes a pocket defining an opening. The bracket includes a retention portion extending into the pocket for retaining the jumper element into the pocket and a latch beside the opening of the pocket. The jumper element includes a protrusion engaging with the latch. The jumper element is assembled into the pocket in a vertical direction and can be pulled out through the opening in the horizontal direction with the latch sliding along the protrusion and finally disengaging the protrusion.

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing having a mating tongue, a plurality of first contacts retained in the housing and exposed upon a first mating face of the mating tongue, and a plurality of second contacts retained in the housing and exposed upon a second mating face of the mating tongue. The first contacts offset with the second contacts in a front elevational view. The mating tongue defines a receiving room at a front portion thereof and extending in a transverse direction, the receiving room runs through the first mating face to directly face to the first contacts and synchronously runs through the second mating face to directly face to the second contacts, which is suitable for minimization.

Electrical connector having improved insulative housing

An electrical connector assembly comprises an insulating housing defining a cavity and a pocket beside the cavity, a bracket located at the outside of the insulating housing, and a jumper element assembled into the pocket. The bracket comprises a latch extending into the pocket while the jumper element comprises an elastic member elastically received in the pocket and urging the jumper element to move upwardly. The latch of the bracket engages the jumper element to retain the jumper element into the pocket, when releasing the latch, the elastic member ejects the jumper element upwardly out from the pocket.

An electronic device includes a printed circuit board having a top surface, a clip member, a heat sink mounted on the top surface of the printed circuit board, and an anchor having a mounting portion with a solder surface for soldering to the top surface of the printed circuit board and a hook portion used to lock the clip member assembled to the heat sink. The solder surface is mounted to the top surface of the printed circuit board by surface mount technique (SMT).

Electrical contact

An electrical connector assembly mounted on a printed circuit board, includes a socket and a connector. The socket mounted on the printed circuit board, has an insulative housing with upper body and lower body formed with a receiving room. A number of contacts respectively received in the upper body and lower body with a same structure. The contacts have spring portions extending into the receiving room and soldering portions extending beyond the upper body and the lower body. The connector is mounted on the printed circuit board. A linking element mechanically and electrically connects the socket and the connector.

An electrical socket includes an insulating housing, a plurality of contacts, an upper film permanently attached to the top face and a lower film permanently attached to the bottom face. The insulating housing defines a top face and a bottom face, and a plurality of through holes through the top and bottom faces. The contacts are retained in the insulating housing and the contacts comprise elastic portions received in the through holes, contacting portions and connecting portions. The contacting portions and connecting portions integrally connected with opposite ends of the elastic portions respectively. The contacting portions run through the upper film and the connecting portions run through lower film.

Electrcial socket with LGA type coil contacts for IC package

An electrical connector includes a contact carrier receiving a plurality of contacts with solder balls, respectively. A socket frame has an opening formed by a number of sidewalls, the contact carrier is disposed in the opening and lower than the sidewalls. A bottom support has a thin board located below and supported the contact carrier and the socket frame, and an aperture is formed by the thin board to allow the solder balls passing through thereof. The thin board of the bottom support at least attaches with the socket frame.

Electrical connector with low profile

An electrical interposer for connecting two electronic devices includes a plurality of first cores with undulating structure extending in a first direction and a plurality of second cores with undulating structure extending in a second direction angular with the first direction. Each first core has first peaks and first valleys alternately arranged in the first direction and each first peak is electrically connected with a corresponding neighboring first valley but insulated from others. Each second core has second peaks and second valleys alternately arranged in the second direction and each second peak is electrically connected with a corresponding neighboring second valley but insulated from others. The first cores and the second cores interlace with each other to reach a woven structure with the first peaks and the second peaks jointly constituting an upper interface, and the first valleys and the second valleys jointly constituting a lower interface.

Low profile electrical interposer of woven structure and method of making same

An electrical connector includes an insulative housing and a number of electrical contacts secured to the insulative housing. The insulative housing has a pair of opposite top surface and bottom surfaces. Each electrical contact includes a retaining section received in the insulative housing, a flat offset section bending from a top end of the retaining section and extending along the top surface of the insulative housing, a soldering section bending from a bottom end of the retaining section, and a cantilevered contact arm bending downwardly from the offset section and projecting into the insulative housing.

Low profile electrical connector

An electrical connector includes an insulting housing defining a receiving room and an inserting opening through which the module is inserted in the receiving room in an inserting direction. A plurality of contacts are retained in the housing and each contact comprises an engaging portion extending in the receiving room. A pair of latching structures is located in front of the inserting opening to limit the module in the receiving room in the inserting direction of the module, the latching structures being urged to move downward to allow the module into the receiving room.
