An online meeting system begins the process of connecting a user to an online meeting when a request is received from a user to start or join the online meeting. In response to the request, a pre-meeting user interface (UI) is displayed having a user interface control which, when activated, enables transmission of audio and/or video data for the online meeting, and prior to activation of the control, connection parameters are shared with an online meeting service to preheat the meeting. In response to activation of the control, transmission of audio and/or video data for the online meeting is enabled.

Reducing setup time for online meetings

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for indicating a preemption of resources impacting a joint transmission from multiple transmitting entities to a user equipment. The transmitting entities may be associated with a virtual cell ID or a demodulation reference signal (DMRS) port group ID.

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment may receive a signaling communication that includes information specifying whether a channel state information reference signal (CSI-RS) precoding resource block group includes a same quantity of resource blocks (RBs) that is included in a CSI reporting subband configured for the UE. The CSI-RS precoding resource block group may enable the UE to perform a channel estimation based at least in part on a CSI-RS transmitted by a base station. The UE may perform the channel estimation based at least in part on the CSI-RS transmitted by the base station. The channel estimation may be based at least in part on whether the CSI-RS precoding resource block group includes the same quantity of RBs that is included in the CSI reporting subband configured for the UE. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Configuring channel state information reference signal subband precoding resource block groups

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described that provide for reduced timing between certain downlink communications and responsive uplink communications relative to certain legacy systems (e.g., legacy LTE systems). A user equipment (UE) or base station may be capable of operating using two or more timing configurations that each include an associated time period between receipt of a downlink communication (e.g., a grant of uplink resources or shared channel data) and a responsive uplink communication (e.g., an uplink transmission using the granted uplink resources or feedback of successful reception of the shared channel data). In cases where a UE or base station are capable of two or more timing configurations, a timing configuration for a transmission may be determined and the responsive uplink communication transmitted according to the determined timing configuration.

Latency reduction techniques in wireless communications

Methods, systems, devices, and apparatuses for wireless communications that support transmission diversity enhancement for uplink control channel are described. Generally, the described techniques provide for enhanced performance of an uplink control channel such as a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) through the use of transmission diversity. In some cases, multiple input multiple output (MIMO) techniques may be supported for transmission of an uplink control channel for a given format suitable for transmission diversity enhancement. A resource block (RB) used in an uplink control channel transmission may contain a number of resource elements (REs) across one or more resource blocks. According to some aspects, a transmit diversity scheme may be employed at the RE level through application of different spatial precoders for different groups of REs of a given RB.

Transmission diversity enhancement for uplink control channel

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A wireless device may transmit feedback, such as hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) feedback for groups of code blocks rather than for an entire transport block or individual code blocks. The wireless device may transmit an acknowledgement (ACK) or negative-acknowledgement (NACK) to provide feedback for each code block group of a set of code block groups. An ACK may indicate that code blocks in a code block group were successfully decoded, and a NACK may indicate that at least one code block in a code block group was not successfully decoded. Wireless devices may support several techniques for grouping code blocks for feedback reporting to allow for efficient retransmissions and limited overhead. Different grouping schemes may be employed depending on system constraints, device capability, link conditions, or the like.

Code block grouping and feedback that support efficient retransmissions

A method in accordance with aspects of the disclosure comprises receiving a plurality of downlink control information (DCI) signals, wherein each DCI signal is associated with a Demodulation Reference Signal (DMRS) Port Group (DMRS-PG) of a plurality of DMRS-PGs, and each DCI signal within the plurality of DCI signals contains a DMRS-PG Identifier (DMRS-PGID) identifying the associated DMRS-PG, performing one or more measurements associated with the each DCI signal, and generating a multi-port-group uplink control information (UCI) signal based on the one or more measurements associated with the each DCI, wherein the multi-port-group UCI signal contains an indication of whether the each DCI is successfully received. The indication can be explicitly contained in the UCI, or implicitly realized using scrambling sequences associated with DMRS-PGs to scramble the UCI.

Multi-port-group uplink control information signaling and related systems and methods

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications in a multiple bandwidth part environment are described. In response to a serving beam failure in an active bandwidth part, the UE may determine a level of support provided by the active bandwidth part for a random access procedure, and may determine a contingency (e.g. fallback) bandwidth part that supports the random access procedure. In some cases, the UE may identify the contingency bandwidth as an initial bandwidth part used by the UE for a prior random access procedure. In some cases, the base station may send to the UE, an explicit indication of the contingency bandwidth part. In some cases, the UE may identify the contingency bandwidth part based on a reference signal. Upon determining the contingency bandwidth part, the UE may perform the random access procedure using the contingency bandwidth part.

Beam recovery in a multiple bandwidth part environment

Wireless devices may use polar codes for encoding transmissions and may support combining transmissions to improve decoding reliability (e.g., by achieving chase combining and incremental redundancy (IR) gains). For example, an encoding device may puncture a set of mother code bits using different puncturing patterns to obtain different redundancy versions for a first transmission and a re-transmission. Each puncturing pattern may correspond to an equivalent decoding performance. In some cases, to obtain equivalent puncture sets, the encoding device may perform punctured index manipulation procedures on an initial puncturing pattern. A punctured index manipulation procedure may involve switching a binary state for a binary bit at a same binary bit index for each puncture index in a puncturing pattern. A device may receive the transmissions generated using the equivalent puncture sets and may combine the information for improved decoding reliability.

Equivalent puncture sets for polar coded re-transmissions

Techniques are provided for retransmission of Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUCCH) for Ultra Reliable Low Latency Communications (URLLC). A User Equipment (UE) transmits at least one code block of a control channel, the at least one code block including Channel State Information (CSI), wherein each code block is polar encoded by assigning bit indices of the code block to bit channels in a particular order of reliabilities of the bit channels. The UE detects a trigger, and in response, retransmits at least a portion of each code block including retransmitted CSI, wherein the portion is polar encoded by assigning bit indices of the retransmitted CSI to the bit channels in the reverse order of reliabilities of the bit channels as compared to the polar encoding of the CSI.

Retransmission of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for ultra reliable low latency communications (URLLC)

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to techniques for encoding and decoding bits of information using cyclic redundancy check (CRC) concatenated polar encoding and decoding. A method generally includes obtaining the bits of information to be transmitted. The method includes performing CRC outer encoding of the bits of information using an even-weighted generator polynomial to produce CRC encoded bits. The method includes performing polar inner encoding of the CRC encoded bits to generate a codeword. The method includes discarding a first code bit at a beginning of the codeword. The shortened codeword is transmitted over a wireless medium. In another method, bit-level scrambling is performed on the CRC encoded bits before the polar encoding to. In another method, only odd-weighted generator polynomials are selected.

Methods and apparatus for CRC concatenated polar encoding

Certain aspects of the present disclosure are generally directed to design of random access channel (RACH) procedures. For example, certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a method for wireless communication by a user equipment (UE). The method generally includes receiving an indication of a RACH procedure capability of a network entity, and selecting a first RACH procedure or a second RACH procedure, based on the indication. The UE may then communicate one or more messages with the network entity based on the selected first RACH procedure or the selected second RACH procedure.

Various techniques for narrowband communications in a wireless communications network are provided. Narrowband communications may be transmitted using a single resource block (RB) of a number of RBs used for wideband communications. In order to provide for efficient device discovery and synchronization using narrowband communications, a synchronization signal, such as a primary synchronization signal (PSS) or secondary synchronization signal (SSS), may be transmitted within the single resource block. The synchronization signal may be transmitted, for example, using multiple orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols within the single RB. A common reference signal (CRS) may also be present in the single resource block, which may puncture the synchronization signal, in some examples. In other examples, the synchronization signal may be mapped to non-CRS symbols of the single resource block.
