An imaging module includes a reflective display element, a prism device and a light absorbing element. The reflective display element includes a reflective display surface. The prism device includes first and second prisms. The first prism includes first, second and third surfaces. The second prism includes fourth, fifth and sixth surfaces. A stray light beam is incident into the first prism, passes through the third surface and then exits the first prism, then the stray light beam is incident into the second prism through the fourth surface, and then the stray light beam is reflected by the fifth surface and then exits the second prism. The light absorbing element is disposed on a transmission path of the stray light beam exiting the second prism. A projection device including the imaging module is also provided.

An illumination system including an excitation light source, a wavelength conversion module, a light splitting module and a light homogenizing element is provided. The light splitting module has a transfer region and a light splitting region, an excitation beam incident to the wavelength conversion module is converted into a wavelength converted beam by a wavelength conversion region, and is reflected by the reflection region, and the excitation beam coming from the wavelength conversion module is split into a first and a second sub-excitation beams by the light splitting region, and the first sub-excitation beam and the second sub-excitation beam form an excitation combination beam. The light homogenizing element uniforms the excitation combination beam and the wavelength converted beam, where an angle of the excitation combination beam incident to the light homogenizing element is 0.25 times larger than an angle of the wavelength converted beam incident to the light homogenizing element.

An illumination system includes a coherent light source, a first light-combining device, an optical wavelength conversion module, and a first auxiliary light source. The coherent light source emits a coherent light beam. The first light-combining device is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam. The light wavelength conversion module is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam transmitted from the first light-combining device and converts the coherent light beam into a first converted light beam, and reflects the first converted light beam back to the first light-combining device. The first auxiliary light source emits a first auxiliary light beam which is transmitted to the first light-combining device. The first light-combining device combines the first auxiliary light beam and the first converted light beam. A projection apparatus and a method for driving the illumination system are also provided.

Illumination system, projection apparatus and method for driving illumination system

A projection apparatus including an illumination system, a light valve, and an image-forming system is provided. The illumination system includes a first dichroic unit, a second dichroic unit, a third dichroic unit, two wavelength conversion modules, two light sources respectively emitting a first beam and a second beam, and an excitation light source module emitting an excitation beam. The first dichroic unit and the second dichroic unit are disposed on a transmission path of the excitation beam. The two wavelength conversion modules respectively convert the corresponding partial excitation beam coming from the first dichroic unit and the second dichroic unit into two converted beams. The light valve converts the first beam, the two converted beams, and the second beam coming from the third dichroic unit into an image beam. The image-forming system is disposed on a transmission path of the image beam.

Projection apparatus and illumination system having wavelength conversion modules

A projector includes an illumination system, an optical engine module and a projection lens. The illumination system includes an excitation light source group, a wavelength conversion element and a light combining element. A first light emitting element provides a first beam. The wavelength conversion element has a reflective area and a wavelength conversion area, which cut into the transmission path of the first beam by turns. The light combining element is disposed between the excitation light source group and the wavelength conversion element and has at least one first dichroic portion, at least one first reflective portion, and a first light combining surface facing the first light emitting element. The first dichroic portion and the first reflective portion correspond to the first and the third quadrant of the first light combining surface respectively. The projector and the illumination system have the advantages of lower cost and smaller size.

An illumination system includes a coherent light source, a first light-combining element, an optical wavelength conversion module, and a first auxiliary light source. The coherent light source emits a coherent light beam. The first light-combining element is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam. The light wavelength conversion module is disposed on a transmission path of the coherent light beam transmitted from the first light-combining element and converts the coherent light beam into a first converted light beam, and reflects the first converted light beam back to the first light-combining element. The first auxiliary light source emits a first auxiliary light beam which is transmitted to the first light-combining element along the transmission path of the coherent light beam. An illumination system including at least one laser light source, a wavelength conversion device, and a two-dimensional (2D) anisotropic diffusion sheet is provided. The laser light source emits a laser beam, and the wavelength conversion device is located on a transmission path of the laser beam. The 2D anisotropic diffusion sheet is located on the transmission path of the laser beam and between the laser light source and the wavelength conversion device. Besides, the 2D anisotropic diffusion sheet allows the laser beam to have an increasing degree of a divergent angle in a first direction greater than an increasing degree of a divergent angle in a second direction. The first direction is substantially parallel to a slow axis of the laser beam. A projection apparatus is also provided.

A light source module including an exciting light source, a wavelength conversion module, and a light combining unit is provided. The exciting light source is capable of providing an exciting light beam. The wavelength conversion module includes at least one wavelength conversion reflecting portion and a wavelength conversion portion which cut into the transmission path of the exciting light beam alternately. When the wavelength conversion portion cuts into the transmission path of the exciting light beam, part of the exciting light beam which passes through the wavelength conversion portion is a first color light beam and another part of the exciting light beam is converted into a second color light beam by the wavelength conversion portion. The color of the second color light beam is different from that of the exciting light beam. A projection apparatus is also provided.

A wavelength conversion and filtering module that includes a plurality of optical regions is provided. The optical regions are adapted to move, and at least one of the optical regions includes a reflection unit, a wavelength conversion unit, a prism sheet, and a filter unit. The wavelength conversion unit is located between the reflection unit and the prism sheet. The prism sheet is located between the wavelength conversion unit and the filter unit. A light source system is also provided.

Wavelength conversion and filtering module and light source system

A light source module includes a light-emitting device, a wavelength conversion device and a polarization and color separation unit. The light-emitting device provides an excitation beam including a first portion beam having a first polarization direction. The wavelength conversion device includes a first wavelength conversion area and a polarization conversion area. When the first portion beam irradiates the first wavelength conversion area, the first portion beam is converted into a first color beam. When the first portion beam irradiates the polarization conversion area, the first polarization direction of the first portion beam is converted to a second polarization direction. The polarization and color separation unit is disposed between the wavelength conversion device and the light-emitting device, and transmits the first portion beam with the first polarization direction, and reflects the first portion beam with the second polarization direction and the first color beam to the same direction.
