A method to compensate for chemical shift displacement includes, prior to applying an imaging pulse sequence to acquire MRI data of a subject, applying a first saturation pulse within a slice location of an imaging volume of the subject in which the MRI data is to be acquired, wherein the first saturation pulse results in a first chemical shift displacement between water and fat in a first spatial saturation band. The method also includes, prior to applying the imaging pulse sequence, subsequently applying a second saturation pulse within the slice location, wherein the second saturation pulse results in a second chemical displacement between the water and the fat in a second spatial saturation band that results in a final spatial saturation band being free of chemical shift displacement after application of the second saturation pulse, the second chemical shift displacement being different from the first chemical shift displacement.

System and method for utilizing dual spatial saturation pulses to compensate for chemical shift displacement in a spatial saturation band

A method for producing an image of an object with a MRI system includes providing a Shear In Readout Encoding Imaging (SIREN) gradient pulse in a phase gradient signal waveform. The phase gradient signal waveform is applied to a phase gradient coil of the MRI system. The application of the SIREN gradient pulse provides a SIREN k-space of the object which has SIREN k-space lines with a shear angle. A MR image space data from the SIREN k-space is then obtained by applying a reconstruction technique. Finally, the image of the object is generated by transforming SIREN MR image space data into regular image space data using a decoding algorithm based on the shear angle.

Methods and systems are provided for automated graphical prescriptions with deep learning systems. In one embodiment, a method for a medical imaging system comprises acquiring, by the medical imaging system, localizer images of a subject, generating, by a trained neural network system, a graphical prescription using the localizer images, and performing, by the medical imaging system, a scan of the subject according to the graphical prescription. In this way, a desired region of interest of the subject may be accurately scanned with minimal input from an operator of the medical imaging system.

Systems and methods for automated graphical prescription with deep neural networks

A controller that is operatively connected with a magnet assembly, which defines a target volume; and an image processor, which is configured to obtain calibration data from the controller; map Btransmit intensity from the magnet assembly to the target volume, based on the calibration data; calculate a Btransmit shading correction based at least on the map of Btransmit intensity and on pulse sequence parameters; obtain k-space data of an imaging subject within the target volume from the controller operating the magnet assembly based on the pulse sequence parameters; develop an MR image from the k-space data; and apply the Btransmit shading correction to the MR image.
