A communication device receives an uplink grant from a node of a cellular network. The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device in reoccurring time intervals. For each of these time intervals, the communication device selects between an active mode and an inactive mode. In the active mode the communication device performs an uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources. In the inactive mode the communication device performs no uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources.

Conditional uplink radio resource utilization in a cellular network

A node () of a cellular network sends an uplink grant () to a communication device (). The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device () in reoccurring time intervals. In response to detecting a need for an uplink retransmission () by a further communication device (') on at least a part of the allocated uplink radio resources in a certain one of the time intervals, the node () sends control information () to the communication device (). The control information () temporarily disables utilization of at least this part of the allocated uplink radio resources in at least this certain time interval by the communication device ().

Collision avoidance for uplink radio resource allocation in reoccurring time intervals

An access node () of a cellular network sends an uplink grant to a communication device (-A,-B,-C). The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device (-A,-B,-C) in reoccurring time intervals. The access node () monitors a uplink radio resource, configured before each of the reoccurring time intervals, for an indication of intention to transmit uplink data by an uplink transmission on the indicated uplink radio resources in the corresponding reoccurring time interval. In response to not detecting the indication and determining a need for an uplink transmission in the corresponding reoccurring time interval by a further communication device (-A,-B,-C), the access node () reallocates the indicated uplink radio resources in the corresponding time interval to the further communication device.

Selective reallocation of previously allocated radio resources

A communication device receives an uplink grant from a node of a cellular network. The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device in reoccurring time intervals. For each of these time intervals, the communication device selects between an active mode and an inactive mode, in the active mode the communication device performs an uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources. In the inactive mode the communication device performs no uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources.

Methods, nodes, a wireless communication device and computer programs to be usable in association with controlling transmission of at least one data unit via a first link between a first access node and a wireless communication device and via a second link between the first access node and the wireless communication device via the second access node are described. In one embodiment, the method may be performed by the first access node and may comprise receiving first transmission delay information indicative of a transmission delay of the first link and/or second transmission delay information indicative of the second link, and controlling the transmission of said data unit based on the first and/or second transmission delay information.

Method for controlling transmission of data

In one aspect, a wireless device receives a first data transmission from a base station in a first subframe interval and transmits HARQ feedback and/or CSI to the base station in a subsequent subframe interval, within a duration that is less than a maximum transmission duration that is possible within the subsequent subframe interval. In another aspect, a base station transmits a first data transmission to a wireless device in a first subframe interval and receives HARQ feedback and/or CSI from the wireless device in a subsequent subframe interval, within a duration that is less than a maximum transmission duration that is possible within the subsequent subframe interval.

Control of channel reference signal transmission in a cellular network

Depending on data () available in an uplink data buffer () of a communication device () for uplink transmission and further depending on uplink radio resources previously allocated to the communication device () for the uplink transmission in reoccurring time intervals, a fraction (-) of the data () available in the uplink data buffer () is determined. A buffer status report is sent to the cellular network. The buffer status report indicates the determined fraction (-) of the data ().

A mobile network comprises a cell, with one or more subordinate cells having regions that are each located at least partially within a coverage region of the cell. A base station serving the cell receives a measurement report from a further base station. The further base station is operable for serving one of the subordinate cells. The measurement report indicates a result of a measurement performed by the further base station on an uplink reference signal transmitted by a user equipment. On the basis of the measurement report, the base station controls activity of the subordinate cell.
