A dryer appliance and sensor assembly are provided. The sensor assembly may include a sensor housing, an appliance sensor, a wireless transmission tag, and a generator. A magnet rail is statically affixed to a cabinet. The sensor housing may extend within a drum and define a compartment proximate a space for the receipt of clothes. The generator is positioned within the compartment. The drum positions the generator in operable communication with the magnet rail. The appliance sensor may be positioned on the sensor housing. The wireless transmission tag may be positioned within the compartment. The wireless transmission tag may be in communication with the appliance sensor. The wireless tag reader may be in operable communication with the wireless transmission tag.

A method of provisioning a household appliance includes transmitting a signal from the household appliance to a remote user interface device and receiving, by the household appliance, an acknowledgement from the remote user interface device in response to the signal. The method also includes providing an indication on a user interface physically connected to the household appliance. The indication indicates an element of the user interface physically connected to the household appliance to select in order to cause the household appliance to enter commissioning mode.

A laundry appliance includes a cabinet defining an opening with a laundry vessel mounted within the cabinet. The laundry vessel defines a treatment chamber. The laundry appliance also includes an electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator upstream of the treatment chamber with respect to a flow of cold water through the laundry appliance and a controller. The controller may be configured for and/or a method of sanitizing the laundry appliance may include opening a valve upstream of the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator to provide the flow of cold water through the laundry appliance, confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance after opening the valve, and activating the electrolytic hypochlorous acid generator after confirming the presence of the cold water in the laundry appliance.
