The invention relates to a dense phase powder pump and a method for operating a dense phase powder pump in a powder-conveying mode. In order, in a simple manner, to prevent or at least reduce powder accumulations and clogging with powder, in particular on the powder inlet side of the powder conveying chamber of the dense phase powder pump, and thus in the region of the powder inlet valves, according to the invention, during a predefined or specified time period in at least one output phase and preferably at the end time of the output phase of a powder cycle, at least one of the following conditions exists: i) the powder inlet valve of the dense phase powder pump is open; ii) the powder outlet valve of the dense phase powder pump is closed; and/or iii) the application of an overpressure to the powder conveying chamber of the dense phase powder pump is interrupted.

Method for operating a dense phase powder pump and dense phase powder pump

A method and a dense phase powder pump for conveying coating powder from a first powder reservoir to a second downstream powder reservoir or to a downstream powder spray-coating gun or the like installation for spraying coating powder are disclosed. In order to reduce the number of components of the dense phase powder pump that require maintenance, the dense phase powder pump is designed as a single-chamber dense phase powder pump and has only a single powder conveyor chamber for conveying coating powder.

Dense phase powder pump and corresponding operating method

The invention relates to a method and a dense phase powder pump () for conveying coating powder from a first powder reservoir () to a second downstream powder reservoir or to a downstream powder spray-coating gun () or the like installation for spraying coating powder. In order to reduce the number of components of the dense phase powder pump () that require maintenance, the dense phase powder pump () is designed as a single-chamber dense phase powder pump and has only a single powder conveyor chamber () for conveying coating powder.

A powder feeding device, in particular for coating powder, is disclosed. The powder feeding device includes a dense phase powder pump which has at least one conveying chamber with a powder inlet valve and a powder outlet valve. Furthermore, a control device is provided for selectively operating the dense phase powder pump in a powder conveying more or a flushing operating mode. The powder inlet valve and the powder outlet valve of the dense phase powder pump are configured in each case as a pneumatically actuable compression valve which can be closed when an actuating pressure is applied. The control device is configured to set the pressure value of the actuating pressure which is selected for closing the powder inlet valve and/or powder outlet valve depending on the respective operating mode of the dense phase powder pump and/or depending on a pressure which prevails in the conveying chamber.

Powder feeding device, in particular for coating powder

The invention relates to a powder supply device for a powder coating system having at least one powder container (), which has a powder chamber (), and having at least one powder dispensing device, which is connected or can be connected to a powder dispensing channel () opening into the powder chamber () via a powder dispensing opening (), in order to extract coating powder from the powder chamber () during powder coating operation of the powder coating system. In order to achieve as homogeneous and effective a powder conveyance as possible using the powder supply device according to the invention, the at least one powder dispensing device is designed as a powder dense flux pump (), in particular as a single-chamber powder dense flux pump ().

Powder supply by means of a dense flux pump for a coating system

A powder conveyor has a pneumatically actuated dense phase powder pump and a pressure controller. The dense phase powder pump comprises at least one conveyor chamber having a powder inlet valve and a powder outlet valve. The pressure controller can be used to adjust and maintain a set pressure on the at least one conveyor chamber of the dense phase powder pump that is or can be previously defined and/or to adjust and maintain an actuation pressure on the powder inlet valve or the powder outlet valve that is or can be previously defined. The powder conveyor further comprises a gas flow detection device for detecting or determining a quantity of gas that is fed or removed per time unit when the set pressure is adjusted and maintained on the at least one conveyor chamber or a quantity of gas that is fed to the powder inlet valve or the powder outlet valve per time unit when the actuation pressure is adjusted and maintained. An evaluation device compares at least one detected or determined gas flow value with a corresponding set value and automatically generates an error and/or alarm signal when a deviation is detected.

Powder pump

A powder spraycoating method and powder spraycoating equipment. A dense phase powder pump is used. According to a predetermined conveying-air function in a control unit, different rates of compressed conveying air can be defined for different powder rates. In one predetermined total-air function in the control unit, the sum of total-air rate composed of the rate of compressed conveying air and of the rate of supplemental compressed air can be kept constant even if the rate of compressed conveying air changes.

A coating powder feed method, coating powder feeding device, electrostatic powder spraycoating apparatus containing such a coating powder feeding device. The invention includes a dense phase powder pump fitted with at least one feed chamber. A control signal to create a partial vacuum in the feed chamber is generated no earlier than simultaneously with, preferably by a predetermined delay time after, a control signal opening a powder intake valve of the feed chamber, as a result of which the beginning of partial vacuum buildup in the feed chamber shall take place no earlier than simultaneously with the initial opening of the powder intake valve or by a defined time delay after the opening of the powder intake valve.
