An apparatus for overlapping and stacking sheets, the apparatus has a housing defining a stacking area and a travel plane for the sheets, a conveyor for transporting the sheets through the housing in a travel direction along a travel plane, and an overlapping device in the housing upstream of the stacking area for producing an overlapping stream of the conveyed sheets. A brake in the overlapping device slows the conveyed sheets of the overlapping stream. Stacking elements include stops projecting upward in the stacking area and serving to position a stack formed by the conveyed sheets of the overlapping stream. A separate frame carrying the stacking elements in the stacking area above the travel plane or extending to above the supply travel plane is mounted in the housing of the apparatus so as to be movable horizontally downstream in the direction away from the overlapping device.

Device for stream-feeding and placing sheets onto a stack

A foil transfer device includes an impression cylinder for transporting a printing substrate, a pressure cylinder for pressing a foil web against the printing substrate on the impression cylinder in a transfer nip jointly formed by the pressure cylinder and the impression cylinder, a blower device blowing into an exit region of the transfer nip, and a deflection element for deflecting the foil web. The deflection element is disposed in such a way that the foil web has a web section freely extending from the pressure cylinder to the deflection element. The blower device is disposed on the same side of the foil web as the impression cylinder.

Foil transfer device

An apparatus for overlapping sheets and depositing them in a stack has a conveyor for transporting the sheets in a horizontal travel direction along a travel path toward a stacking region at a rapid feed speed. A braking device on the path upstream of the stacking region can grip the trailing edge of a one of the sheets. At least one supporting air bar extends above the path into the stacking region and has nozzles from which compressed air exits in the sheet travel direction. A suction belt above the travel path between the braking device and the stacking region is movable in the travel direction at least at the rapid feed speed and has suction ports that can be switched on and off cyclically.

Collecting and transport device for a stack formed by layers of sheets

The invention relates to collecting and conveying devices for stacks of sheets (), comprising a collecting station () in which a corresponding number of sheet stacks () are formed simultaneously from several imbricated flows () of sheets which are guided adjacent to each other, a transversal transporter () which is arranged at a distance behind the collecting station () for transporting the finished stack of sheets () in a manner transversal to the direction of transport of the sheets in the collecting station () and a transfer device () which is used to transport the stack of sheets () from the collecting station () to the transversal transporter (). According to the invention, a carriage () that can be displaced over a given path in a manner that is synchronous with the transversal support () is arranged adjacent thereto. Also, a row of holding down clamps () is secured to said carriage and the holding down clamps can be lowered on the stack of sheets () located on the transversal transporter ().

Apparatus for collecting and conveying stacks of sheets

A cutter has a roller body which is made from a hollow profile-like inner part and a tubular profile-like outer part having an irregular cross-sectional shape. The outer part and inner part are such that the working flight circle of a tool on the body is approximately as near to an axis of rotation as the maximum outer circumference of the body. Apart from forming a mold core for the outer part, the inner part also forms a clamping body, and includes a supporting body and a balancing counterweight for the tool unit, thereby providing a very high cutter block strength, and at the same time, a low mass moment of inertia.
