Unsaturated polyester resins containing--as additive--polyesterurethanes having free carboxyl groups and/or terminal radically polymerizable double bonds are good starting materials for manufacturing moulded articles with outstanding properties, particularly with an excellent impact strength.

Mixtures of polyurethanes and unsaturated polyester resins

Molding compositions comprising terminally unsaturated polyesters, vinyl or vinylidene compounds copolymerizable therewith and elastomeric polymers have an excellent impact strength and a good heat distortion temperature, strength and rigidity.

Molding composition based on unsaturated polyesters

Molding compositions comprising a 'terminally unsaturated'polyurethane, a copolymerizable vinyl or vinylidene compound and a rubbery-elastic polymer having a glass transition temperature of between -90.degree. and +10.degree. C. can be used for the preparation of molded articles having a considerably increased impact strength and a good heat distortion temperature, strength and rigidity.

Copolymerizable molding compositions based on unsaturated polyurethanes

.alpha.,.beta.-Ethylenically unsaturated polyesters obtained from dicarboxylic acids and monohydric and dihydric alcohols having acid numbers of 1-50 and hydroxyl numbers of 10-80, 1,5-2,5 mols of dicarboxylic acids and 1,5-2,5 mols of monohydric alcohols having been employed, per mol of diols, in their preparation, are an excellent basis for dispersions containing powdery insoluble substances.

Dispersions of powders in unsaturated polyesters

Organic dispersions which can be cured with little shrinkage and are based on unsaturated polyester, copolymerizable vinyl or vinilydene compounds, thermoplastic polymers which are colloidally soluble and are incompatible with the polyester resin and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer with high vinyl acetate contents show a good stability.

Stable organic dispersions which can be cured with little shrinkage,

Dispersions suitable for the manufacture of moulding compositions which can be cured with low shrinkage to give mouldings with excellent surfaces can be obtained by the addition of finely divided ethylene copolymers manufactured in aqueous emulsion to unsaturated polyester resins.
