A rotor for a tablet press including an upper-ram receptacle for the upper rams and a lower-ram guide for the lower rams of the tablet press, as well as a retainer plate having a series of die-bores which are oriented towards the upper and lower rams wherein the retainer plate is composed of at least two ring segments which are adapted to be mounted non-positively and/or positively to the body of the lower-ram guide by means of a fixing device.

A rotary tablet press, with a rotor driven by a driving motor, which has a die plate as well as an upper and a lower guiding for upper and lower punches, which co-operate with bores of the die plate, a stationary housing closely surrounding the rotor, which constitutes a pressing room, and with at least one ring-shaped sealing arrangement, which seals the housing against a punch guiding, wherein the sealing arrangement has a ring-shaped holder inside the housing, wherein the ring-shaped holder is axially movable between a first and a second position by means of a stationarily arranged lifting device, the sealing arrangement has a first sealing portion, which is continuously in engagement with a first sealing surface of the housing in the first and in the second position, and a second sealing portion which is in engagement with a second sealing surface of the punch guiding with a first sealing force in the first position and is in engagement with the second sealing surface in the second position either with a second sealing force, which is smaller than the first sealing force, or is out of engagement with the same.

Rotor for a tablet press

A device for the guidance of lower rams across the lower-ram head in a rotor-type rotary press in the area of a filling device wherein a charging cam is disposed between an ejector cam which precedes as viewed in the direction of production and a proportioning cam adjustable in height and is configured such as to lower the heads of the lower rams revolving along with the rotor from the level at the end of the ejector cam to a lower-located transition level of the proportioning cam, a press-mounted, first charging-cam element having a first filling-cam portion joining the ejector cam is provided on which the lower-ram heads are guided solely on the side facing the rotor axis subsequent to the ejector cam, an adjustable second charging-cam element is provided and has a second filling-cam portion on which the lower-ram heads are guided solely on the side facing away from the rotor axis before encountering the proportioning cam, that the second charging-cam element is displaceable both vertically and in the circumferential direction of the rotor for the purpose of varying the filling depth along a predetermined adjustable upward slope, and the first and second charging-cam elements have third, helically shaped filling-cam portions which are located between the first and the second charging cam portion and are located partially opposite each other, and guide the lower-ram heads jointly through a certain length, wherein the upward slope of the third filling-cam portions matches with the adjustable upward slope.

Device for the guidance of lower rams

A die for a rotary compression press, comprising a die holder axially supported in a guide bore and a die insert which is seated in the end-side bore of the die holder via a trunnion-shaped projection and is adapted to be mounted via releasable fastening means, wherein the projection is helically guided in the bore between axially spaced stops and is biased by a spring towards the associated front-end face of the die holder.

A rotary compression press for cylindrical compacts, especially tablets, comprising a rotatably driven rotor including a die-plate and an upper and a lower ram guide for upper and lower rams cooperating with the die bores, and a pressure station with an upper and a lower pressure roller for applying a pressing power to the rams wherein the rams circumferentially have an annular tooth system which cooperates with an opposed tooth system in the area of a pressure station for the rams for the purpose of rotating the rams in the die bores thereof, characterized in that the opposed tooth system is defined by a rotatably supported gear which is acted on by a preset braking torque with the braking torque being chosen so as to be smaller than the torque of the ram when under a maximum pressing power.

A rotary tablet press, with a die plate rotatably mounted in a housing, which comprises guides for the upper and lower punch, whose position is controlled by cam disks rigid with the housing, and with an upright drive shaft which is arranged below the die plate and which can be releasably coupled to the die plate, wherein the die plate is formed such that after releasing from the drive shaft and a slight raising it may be moved out laterally, wherein at the ends, facing one another, of the die plate and drive shaft there is provided a quick locking whose parts are arranged in cavities of the die plate and drive shaft and which may be actuated by an actuation rod which is movably mounted in an axial channel of the drive shaft and is actuatable by an actuation device for the selective tensioning or releasing of the die plate and drive shaft.

A rotary tabletting machine with a housing, with a matrix disk in the housing, which in an upper and a lower receiving section guides the upper and lower punch, with an upper and lower cam carrier ring rotationally rigid relative to the housing, for control of the upper and lower punch and with an upright drive shaft, below the matrix disk, driven by a rotational drive and releasably connectable to the matrix disk, wherein the matrix disk and the cam carrier rings with the upper and lower punch after release from the connections as an assembly may be commonly removed from the drive shaft, whereby the cam carrier rings laterally in each case are connected to at least one arm and the arms via an upright connection section are rigidly connected to one another and the connection section is releasably couplable to the housing such that it is secured against rotation.

In order to simplify the operation for determination of the acid-base status of blood, composed of the values for pH, pCO.sub.2 and the base excess BE, the base excess BE is determined through measurement of the pH-value at a pCO.sub.2 of about 0 mn Hg. The pH-values may be determined photometrically, in which case the indicator solution for measuring the actual blood-pH is an aqueous solution of 40 micromol/l bromthymol blue plus 0.2 g/l sodium dodecylsulfate plus 1% ethanol; and for measurement of the base excess BE is an aqueous solution of 65 micro mol/l naphtholphthalein plus 0.2 g/l sodium dodecylsulfate plus 15% dimethylsulfoxide, which are measured at a wavelength of 635 nm. If desired, one may use a single solution for measuring both actual blood-pH as well as the base excess BE, composed of 16 micromol/l bromthymol blue plus 34 micromol/l naphtholphthalein plus 0.15 g/l sodium dodecylsulfate, which is measured at 615 nm wavelength.
