A bearing arrangement for a fluid machinery application employing an axially locating bearing. The axially locating bearing includes: a first angular self-aligning contact bearing arranged next to a second angular self-aligning contact bearing. Each of the first angular self-aligning contact bearing and the second angular self-aligning contact bearing includes a set of rolling elements arranged in a row and interposed between a respective curved inner raceway and an associated curved outer raceway. Each roller is a symmetrical cylindrically-shaped roller having a curved raceway-contacting surface. Each roller is inclined respective to the axial direction of the shaft by a respective contact angle. The rollers support an axial force and a radial force. The axially non-locating bearing position is arranged spaced apart from the axially locating bearing position, as seen in the axial direction. Examples of fluid machinery applications include: a wind turbine, water turbine or a propulsion turbine.

Bearing arrangement for fluid machinery application

A wind turbine rotor shaft arrangement, e.g. of horizontal type, comprising a rotor shaft for supporting wind turbine blades, a non-rotating first housing structure for supporting the rotor shaft, and a first rolling bearing arranged to support, in a first axial direction, the rotor shaft in relation to the first housing structure at a first support point. The first rolling bearing is a single row self-aligning bearing comprising an inner ring, an outer ring, and a set of rolling elements formed of rollers arranged in an intermediate configuration between the inner and outer rings. Each roller is a symmetrical bearing roller having a curved raceway-contacting surface arranged contacting a curved inner raceway of the inner ring and a curved outer raceway of the outer ring. A contact angle between each roller and the inner and/or outer raceway is inclined in relation to the radial direction of the rotor shaft.

Wind turbine rotor shaft arrangement

A wind turbine rotor shaft arrangement comprising a shaft supporting wind turbine blades and a non-rotating first housing structure (mounted to a wind turbine nacelle framing) along with a first rolling bearing supporting (in a first axial direction) the shaft to the first housing structure at a first support point. The first rolling bearing is a self-aligning bearing comprising a first inner ring, a first outer ring and a set of rolling elements interposed therebetween. Each roller is asymmetric, having a curved raceway-contacting surface contacting at least one of the curved inner/outer raceways of the first inner/outer ring, respectively. A contact angle between each roller and the respective raceway is inclined respective to the shaft radial direction. A non-rotating second housing structure (mounted to the wind turbine nacelle framing) supports the shaft. A second rolling bearing supports the shaft by the second housing structure at a second support point.

The present invention relates to a bearing arrangement having a first and a second support structure for supporting a rotating member, a first rolling bearing supporting the first support structure in relation to the second support structure at a first support location, a second rolling bearing supporting the first support structure in relation to the second support structure at a second support location. The first and second rolling bearings are arranged in a coaxial configuration in relation to each other. Furthermore, the first rolling bearing forms a radially outer bearing, and the second rolling bearing is arranged radially inside the first rolling bearing by a bearing radial distance, and the first support location and second support location are axially aligned. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a bearing arrangement.

A bearing () comprising a first row of rolling elements () having a first pressure center () and a first contact angle, and a second row of rolling elements () having a second pressure center () and a second contact angle, whereby said first pressure center () is arranged to coincide with said second pressure center () and whereby said first contact angle is the same as said second contact angle.

Bearing for combined loads

A bearing unit for a fluid machinery application having a double-row bearing, the double-row bearing comprising: a first angular self-aligning contact bearing arranged next to a second angular self-aligning contact bearing for locating and rotatably support a shaft; each angular self-aligning contact bearing having a respective set of rolling elements formed of rollers arranged in a row and interposed between an associated curved inner raceway and a curved outer raceway. Each roller is a symmetrical cylindrically shaped roller having a curved raceway-contacting surface engaging with the curved inner and outer raceways. Each roller is inclined in relation to the axial direction of the shaft by a respective first or second contact angle. The rollers are arranged to cooperate with the associated curved inner and raceways for supporting an axial force and a radial force. Examples of fluid machinery applications include: wind turbine, water turbine or propulsion turbine arrangements.

A toroidal roller bearing, which comprises an outer ring, an inner ring and a plurality of roller elements interposed between the outer and inner rings, wherein the toroidal roller bearing allows for angular and axial displacement between the outer ring and the inner ring. The bearing includes a cage for holding the roller elements, wherein the cage provides an axial guiding feature for axially guiding the roller elements against at least one of the outer ring, inner ring and a separate element located outside the toroidal roller bearing.

The present invention relates to a spacer device for roller elements in a toroidal roller bearing, and a method for manufacturing a toroidal roller bearing comprising a plurality of spacer devices. The toroidal roller bearing allows for axial and angular displacement between an inner and outer bearing ring. The spacer device provides first and second roller-contacting surfaces having a concave shape adapted to conform with respective convex contacting surfaces of the toroidal roller elements, and at least one axial end portion which is elastically deformable.

The present invention refers to a mounting sleeve () for mounting a ring having a tapering inner bore on a cylindrical shaft, wherein the mounting sleeve has a cylindrical inner envelope surface, wherein the inner surface of the mounting sleeve has an increased friction coefficient, for giving an increased ability to the mounting sleeve to transfer axial load, without sliding along the surface of the shaft.

A bearing () includes an outer ring (), rolling elements () and a two-part inner ring (A). The two-part inner ring (A) includes a first part () having a radially outer surface () and an inner bore (). Furthermore, the two-part inner ring (A) includes a second part () having a radially inner surface () and at least one raceway () for rolling elements. The radially outer surface () of the first part () essentially matches the radially inner surface () of the second part (). A cavity (), which in use acts as a pressure chamber, is located between the first and second parts (). When pressurizing the cavity (), a relative axial movement between the first and second parts () is accomplished.

Bearing, and methods of handling the bearing

A rolling bearing includes an outer race ring, an inner race ring and a plurality of rolling bodies arranged between the race rings and adapted to roll against race tracks provided in the race ring surfaces facing each other. The bearing further includes at least one member spaced apart from the race tracks and contacting both race rings. The rolling bodies are electrically non-conductive while the at least one member contacting both race rings is highly electrically conductive, thereby allowing the transfer of electrical currents out of the bearing in an unharmful manner and/or the transfer of electrical signals through the bearing for processing outside the bearing.

A spindle arrangement such as a machine tool spindle which rotates at high rotational speeds includes separate elements, which may be in the form of a counter-weight and a driving and positioning shoulder, that are mounted on the spindle nose. The separate elements are secured to the spindle nose by locking pins that arranged at an angle to the rotational axis of the spindle nose. During rotation of the spindle nose, centrifugal force gives the locking pins a component force in a direction causing the elements to be wedged and the locking pins to be pressed into the bores.

A device for mounting rolling bearing assemblies of the type incorporating an outer race ring, an inner race ring and a plurality of rolling bodies provided between the rings, and where each ring in the assembled position is arranged to be nonmovably interconnected to an assembly element, involves one of the outer and inner race rings being equipped with an arrangement for fitting the race ring so that at least a portion of one of its side faces to a counter surface situated in a substantially radial plane. The race ring is securely attached to the corresponding assembly element or a detail firmly connected thereto.
