A method for deploying a service in a communication network by performing the steps of: invoking a service deployment engine by a request for the service, retrieval of deployment templates, retrieval of service deployment policies, determination of a current configuration of at least one network element involved in providing the service, and selection of a deployment template from the retrieved deployment templates based on the service deployment policies and configuration. Further, a method for configuring a network element via a network element controller through the intermediary of a network element proxy.

Method for deploying a service and a method for configuring a network element in a communication network

A personalised service generation enabling device generates information that enables a service creation element to generate a personalised telecommunications service based on a telecommunications service created by the service creation element. The device provides this telecommunications service to a user. Based on inputted change instructions and on the telecommunications service, the enabling device translates the change instructions into service generation information which is sent to the service creation element which generates a personalised telecommunications service based on the telecommunications service and on the change information. The personalised service is then installed in a relevant network element making the personalised service in this way accessible to the user.

The invention relates to a method of setting up data communication with a communication means (TERA), a first (TERA) and a second (TERB) communication means therefor, set-up program modules (PMPA and PMPB) therefor, a test means (CK) therefor and a test module (PMCK) for a test means. The first communication means (TERA) possesses at least one protocol module (P A, P A and BA) for data communication via at least one first layer of a communication protocol. The second communication means (TERB) sends a test means (CK) at least one target protocol property of the at least one first or one second layer of the protocol for data communication with the first communication means (TERA). The first communication means (TERA) sends the test means at least one actual protocol property of the at least one layer, able to be processed by the at least one protocol module (P A, P A and BA), of the protocol. The test means compares the at least one actual protocol property with the target protocol property. After this, in manner dependent on the respective result, the test means sends the first (TERA) and/or the second (TERB) communication means an instruction for the execution of a subsequent action.
