A method for examining a value document includes emitting ultrasonic pulses onto several locations on the value document. An echo pulse arises by reflection of at least a portion of a respective ultrasonic pulse at the value document. The echo pulses are received while forming echo values, and from the echo values at least a characteristic value is established as to the wrinkledness of the value document. As apparatus is provided for carrying out the method.

Methods and device for checking value documents

An ultrasonic sensor and method for using the same are arranged for capturing a value document transported through a capture region of the ultrasonic sensor. The ultrasonic sensor has an ultrasound transmitter arranged for emitting ultrasound into the capture region and an ultrasound receiver arranged for receiving ultrasound from the ultrasound transmitter from the capture region. A control and evaluation circuit is arranged for controlling the ultrasound transmitter and for capturing and evaluating the signals of the ultrasound receiver. A circuit carrier carries the control and evaluation circuit, the ultrasound transmitter, the ultrasound receiver, and conducting paths electrically connecting the control and evaluation circuit to the first and second ultrasonic transducers. The circuit carrier has a U-shaped configuration and two interconnected arm portions, and the ultrasound transmitter is held on one of the two arm portions and the ultrasound receiver on the other of the two arm portions.

Ultrasonic sensor for capturing value documents and method for manufacturing the same

An apparatus for emitting and/or receiving ultrasound in a predetermined frequency range includes at least one ultrasonic converter for converting ultrasound into electrical signals and/or converting electrical signals into ultrasound, and a holder having at least one ultrasonic channel formed therein in which the ultrasonic converter is disposed at least partly and/or through which ultrasound can pass from or to the ultrasonic converter. The holder has at least one non-fibrous surface layer adjacent to at least one portion of the ultrasonic channel, whose impedance is smaller than that of an inside layer of the holder neighboring to the surface layer.

Device for outputting and/or receiving ultrasound and ultrasound sensor for inspecting a valuable document

An ultrasonic transducer module for an ultrasonic sensor for detection and/or examination of value documents which includes at least one piezoelectric ultrasonic transducer with electrical connecting strands, and a mounting module for holding the ultrasonic transducer for mounting on a connection support. The mounting module has conducting paths which are electrically connected to the connecting strands of the ultrasonic transducer and which have contact areas which are so configured that the ultrasonic transducer module is placeable for mounting onto a surface of the connection support on which there are located contact areas complementary to the conducting path contact areas, with the contact areas and the complementary contact areas being solderable to each other.

Ultrasonic sensor for value documents, transducer module for said sensor, and method for manufacturing the ultrasonic sensor

A sensor for examining a document of value in a detection range of the sensor has at least one electrical component for converting electrical energy into sound waves and/or electromagnetic fields, in particular optical radiation, for examining the document of value and/or for detecting sound waves and/or magnetic or electromagnetic fields, in particular optical radiation, from the document of value to generate detection signals. Additionally, the sensor has a holder for the component, having a recess or a hole for at least partially accommodating the component, in which the electrical component is held, and on or in which at least one conductive path extends to contact with at least one electrical contact of the electrical component.
