A plug-in piecefor sealing connection of two mutually assigned cylindrical surfaces includes an essentially tubular support body, which on its ends exhibits annularly encircling sealing elements, which can be made to engage to produce a sealing connection with the cylindrical surfaces to be sealed, wherein at least one of the sealing elements is configured as an annularly encircling sealing beadon the outer surface of the support body, with a spherically curved sealing surface. Provision is made that the spherical radius of the sealing surface () is chosen so that the center of the sphere is roughly at the axis of support body () symmetry. Thus, the compression forces are ensured to remain largely constant, independent of the angular setting over the entire surface of the sealing bead.

Plug-in piece

A seal including a tubular carrier body () and two annular sealing elements (), wherein the carrier body () on both sides of its front face is respectively enclosed by one of the sealing elements () on the side of its outer perimeter forming a seal. At least one of the sealing elements () is made of a non-elastomeric high-temperature resistant sealing material.

Seal and associated sealing arrangement

There is provided a sealing device () for a unitised grease-or oil-lubricated package bearing assembly comprising a twin outer race () and two inner races () arranged next to each other on a shaft (), with their faces abutting. Typically, oil may be present between the said shaft () and the bore surfaces of the bearing inner races (), for the purpose of lubricating parts of the system adjacent to the bearing, but not the sealed, lubricated bearing itself. The scaling device comprises a substantially annular sealing portion () and the provision of a step () in the abutting face of one of the inner races such that a substantially rectangular-section groove () is created on the outside diameter of the abutting inner races (). Located in the groove () is the annular sealing portion () of the annular sealing device () which is compressed between the side walls of the groove () to provide a barrier to (a) ingress of any oil or water present between the shaft () and the bores of the inner race assemblies (), (b) loss of oil which is part of the lubricant sealed within the bearing.
