A heat transmission unit includes a channel conducting a coolant, and a channel conducting a fluid to be cooled. The two channels are separated from each other by a wall provided with ribs extending therefrom into at least one of the two channels. The channel conducting the fluid to be cooled includes a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet. The channel is separated by a partition wall, arranged in flow direction, into a first and a second partial channel having a first partial inlet for fluid and a second partial inlet for fluid, and a first partial outlet for fluid and a second partial outlet for fluid. At least the first partial inlet for fluid is adapted to be shut off by a first shut-off device.

Heat transmission unit

Heat transmission units are known wherein ribs for improving the cooling efficiency extend along the whole length of the flow path of the radiator. According to the invention, it is proposed, while keeping the constructional space at the same size, to provide a larger cooling surface in a first portion, which has a higher temperature gradient, and which is accomplished by a large number of ribs arranged therein, and to omit such ribs or to reduce their number in a region that has a lower temperature gradient, i.e. in a second portion. In this manner, the overall efficiency of such a heat transmission unit is improved.

Heat transmission unit for an internal combustion engine

An exhaust-gas cooling device for an internal combustion engine includes a housing with an exhaust-gas inlet, an exhaust-gas outlet, a valve device, and a U-shaped heat exchange unit including an outbound flow path and a return flow path. The housing comprises, on the open side of the U-shaped heat exchange unit, a first, a second and a third chamber. The first chamber provides a fluid connection from the exhaust-gas inlet to the second chamber, and the third chamber provides a fluid connection from the second chamber to the exhaust-gas outlet. The valve device is arranged in the second chamber such that the second chamber can be divided into two partial chambers, a first one of the partial chambers is arranged in fluid connection with the outbound flow path, and the second one of the partial chambers is arranged in fluid connection with the return flow path.

Exhaust-gas cooling device for an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a throttle plate port whose pivot axis is disposed so as to be axially offset with respect to the throttle plate and whose radial peripheral surface is shaped, at least by sections, in the form of spherical sectors, where in the position which closes the bore the peripheral surface of the throttle plate abuts, in the form of a line, the seat face of the housing. Through this type of eccentric disposition and simultaneous realization of the peripheral surface, the housing can be realized without undercuts and nonetheless precise dosing can be achieved in the case of small pivot angles.

Throttle body assembly for an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a controllable two-way valve (), in which a valve rod () is connected in a permanent manner to at least two valve members (), the valve rod () being actuated by means of an actuator (). The housing () comprises an inlet () or outlet and two corresponding outlets (), () or inlets. According to the invention, the two valve members () correspond with at least two valve seats () and the two or more valve members () have three control surfaces (). The invention thus provides a dirt-resistant valve, which is easy to operate, has fixed valve members and does not require additional equipment. Said valve permits both the inlet to be completely blocked and the two outlets to be controlled independently of one another.

The invention relates to an air-intake duct system () in which a throttle valve (), an exhaust gas recirculating valve (), a bypass valve (), an exhaust gas cooler (), against which exhaust gas flows via bypass valve (), and, optionally, an air mass sensor are integrated. A complete intake unit for modern engines is hereby created, with which achieves a charging optimization and thus a reduction in fuel consumption as well as a reduction in pollutants by a corresponding thermal management in the engine by the exhaust gas cooler () that, together with a shell () of the housing (), is manufactured as a single piece. The individual add-on pieces () are optimally matched to one another and have, due to their designs, a low weight and a low finishing work requirement. This makes it possible to distinctly reduce assembly and manufacturing costs.

Air-intake duct system for a combustion engine

A valve is installed in an opening provided in a thin wall of an air intake pipe, which supplies combustion air from a flow control device to a cylinder of an internal combustion engine, to relieve excess pressure in the pipe. The valve includes a socket connected to a segment of the air intake pipe, and an elastomer, umbrella valve member is supported in the socket to normally cover the opening in the pipe and to undergo deformation when the pressure in the pipe reaches a predetermined value to uncover the opening and to connect the interior of the pipe to the ambient atmosphere.
