A compression extractor is disclosed. The compression extractor comprises a tank having a flexible membrane mounted therein. The membrane serves to divide the tank into a mash chamber and a pressure chamber. The mash chamber is adapted to receive a fruit mash or other liquid containing material from which liquid is to be extracted. When a pressure medium is introduced into the pressure chamber, the membrane presses on the mash in the mash chamber to extract the liquid therefrom. A liquid collection system is provided to collect the extracted liquid. To improve collection of the extracted liquid, the side of membrane facing the mash chamber is covered at least in part, with drainage canals or the like to direct liquid located near the membrane to the liquid collection system.

Compression extractor

A hay harvesting machine containing a rake wheel whose housing is formed by an upper housing portion non-rotatably connected with a vertical upright shaft and a lower housing portion rotatably mounted upon such upright vertical shaft. The lower housing portion is revolvingly driven by means of a gear drive, such as bevel gearing. In the lower housing portion, there are mounted tine supports pivotable about their lengthwise axis. These tine supports extend in tangential direction and, viewed in the direction of revolving motion, extend rearwardly. Each tine support is provided with a control arm carrying a control head or follower guided in a downwardly open control track or cam, having an essentially U-shaped cross-sectional configuration. This control track is located in a plane extending essentially perpendicular to the upright or vertical shaft. This control track possesses a control track section which is essentially coaxial with respect to the upright shaft and merges with a second control track section or portion extending at a greater spacing from the upright shaft than the first control track section or portion. By means of the control arms guided in the control track, the tine supports are pivoted from a rake position into an ineffectual or non-operating position and again back into the rake position.

Hay harvesting machine

A hay harvesting machine contains a rake wheel whose housing is formed by an upper housing portion non-rotatably connected with a vertical upright shaft and a lower driven housing portion rotatably mounted at such upright shaft. In bearing bushings rotatably mounted at the lower housing portion there are retained tine supports provided with raking tines or prongs. These tine supports extend in an essentially horizontal plane and, by rotating the bearing portions, can be selectively shifted from a first operating position into a second operating position. In the first operating position the tine supports extend approximately in tangential direction and in the second operation position they protrude essentially in radial direction from the upright shaft. Each tine support is connected with a control lever engaging, by means of a control head or follower, into a control track or cam. This control track is located in a plane extending essentially perpendicular to the upright shaft, i.e. horizontally. Each control lever is connected with the related tine support by means of a hinge shaft extending approximately perpendicular to the lengthwise axis of the related tine support and located in a plane which is essentially perpendicular to the upright shaft. By virtue of this hinge connection, with the tine supports located in the second operating position, there is eliminated the control connection between the control lever and its tine support.

A hay harvesting machine containing a rake wheel having a housing formed by an upper housing portion connected non-rotatably with a vertical upright shaft and a lower housing portion rotatably mounted at the upright shaft. The lower housing portion is revolvingly driven by means of a gear drive, typically bevel gearing. In the lower housing portion there are mounted tine supports so as to be pivotal about their lengthwise axis, these tine supports additionally being pivoted about a pivot shaft or axis extending transversely with respect to their lengthwise axis. This pivot axis is located in a plane which is approximately perpendicular to the upright shaft. The tine supports extend in tangential direction and, viewed in the direction of revolving motion thereof, extend rearwardly. For swath formation the tine supports are retained in a pivotal position where they are guided by means of a control head or follower in a control track or cam at the upper housing portion. This control track is located in a plane extending essentially perpendicular to the upright or vertical shaft. For windrowing and turning the cut grass or material the tine supports are pivoted about the pivot shaft or axis, so that they come out of engagement with the control track or cam. In this pivotal position the tine supports are secured against rotation about their lengthwise axis.
