A fogging device () for introducing water and/or vapor into an intake air flow () of a gas turbine () includes a sound-absorbing device (). This device may in particular be designed in the form of Venturi tubes (), the water () being fed to the air flow () via nozzles () arranged at the narrowest location. In this way, the spraying of water for increasing the power output or for generally regulating the gas turbine can at the same time be combined with a silencer, and this in a comparatively simple construction.

Fogging device for gas turbines

A silencer () for the attenuation of noise occurring in an intake airstream () of a gas turbine () includes a device or devices () for the introduction of water and/or steam into the intake airstream (). These devices may be designed, in particular, in the form of Venturi tubes (), the water () being supplied, in particular above the saturation limit, to the airstream () via nozzles () arranged at the narrowest point. In this way, the silencing can be combined at the same time with the introduction of water for increasing the power output or for the general regulation of the gas turbine, this being achieved with a comparatively simple design.

Intake silencer for gas turbines

In a method for operating a power plant by means of a COprocess, isentropic compression first takes place, subsequently an isobaric heat supply, then isentropic expansion, and finally isobaric heat discharge. The COprocess broken down here takes place with internal combustion, a fuel () and the oxygen () necessary for oxidization being supplied. After the charging of the COcircuit () has been carried out, the excess COformed from combustion is discharged continuously, in that this gas is led through a cooler (), in which said gas is condensed. In order to dispose of this condensed CO(), there are available here, for example, the possibilities of storing this COon the ocean floor or of introducing the condensed COinto a worked-out deposit of natural gas.

In a power generation unit, especially in a gasturbo group, a gaseous process fluid is guided in a closed cycle. The gaseous process fluid flows through a compression device (), a heater () and an expansion device (), especially a turbine. Downstream from the expansion device at least one heat sink () is arranged in which the gaseous process fluid is cooled before it is returned to the compressor device (). At least one heat sink includes a waste heat steam generator in which an overheated amount of steam () is generated that is added to the compressed gaseous process fluid. Together with the gaseous process fluid the steam flows through the heater () if necessary and is expanded together with it. The expanded steam condenses in the waste heat steam generator () and another heat sink (); the condensate is processed in a filter () and is returned to the waste heat steam generator () under pressure via a feed pump (). Due to the closed process any kind of process fluid and process filling for controlling performance can be used.

Thermal power process

In a power generation plant having at least one gas turbine cycle with heat-recovery boiler () and at least one steam turbine cycle operated via the heat-recovery boiler (), the gas turbine cycle being designed to be semi-closed and essentially free of emissions and essentially comprising a compressor (), a combustion chamber () arranged downstream of the compressor (), a gas turbine () arranged downstream of the combustion chamber (), a heat-recovery boiler () arranged downstream of the gas turbine (), and at least one generator () coupled to the gas turbine (), modes of operation with the gas turbine cycle stopped and start-up using fresh air are made possible by first means () being arranged which alternatively or additionally allow hot gas to be fed into the hot-gas path () between gas turbine () and heat-recovery boiler (), and by second means () being arranged which alternatively or additionally allow exhaust gas to be expelled from the exhaust-gas path () downstream of the heat-recovery boiler ().

Methods and apparatus for starting up emission-free gas-turbine power stations

A gas turbine system includes a gas turbine () having a compressor () and a turbine (), which via a common shaft () drive a generator (), and a combustion chamber (), the exit of which is connected to the entry to the turbine () of the gas turbine (), has a fuel feed () and receives combustion air from the exit of the compressor () of the gas turbine () via the high-pressure side of a recuperator (), the exit of the turbine () and the entry to the compressor () of the gas turbine () being connected via the low-pressure side of the recuperator (), and a first exhaust-gas turbocharger (ATL) which sucks in air being connected to different locations () of the low-pressure side of the recuperator () via the exit of its compressor () and the entry to its turbine ().

Method for operating a partially closed, turbocharged gas turbine cycle, and gas turbine system for carrying out the method

In a method for the operation of a power plant with a closed or quasi-closed cycle, the power plant substantially comprises at least one compressor unit () or a pump, at least one combustion chamber (), at least one turbine () and at least one heat sink (). In the combustion chamber (), a fuel mass flow () reacts with at least one oxygen flow (), the excess combustion products which are formed as a result (CO, HO) are removed from the cycle at a suitable location (), and the oxygen stream () fed to the combustion chamber is obtained by means of an air fractionation installation (). Means () for coarse fractionation of the supplied air () are connected upstream of the air fractionation installation () in order to supply oxygen-enriched air () to the air fractionation installation ().

Method for the operation of a power plant

In a turbocharged diesel engine, the charge air is cooled in a charge air cooler designed as an injection intercooler. The water which has been introduced into the working medium of the diesel engine in the charge air cooler, after the working medium has been expanded, is condensed out of the exhaust gas by means of a condenser and a separator and is returned to the charge air cooler. According to the invention, the engine is started without injection of externally supplied water into the charge air cooler. Water which forms during the combustion in the diesel engine is condensed out of the exhaust-gas stream and returned to the charge air cooler. Additional water vapor formed continuously during operation through combustion of diesel fuel is likewise condensed out and introduced into the charge air cooler. In this way, the working medium is laden with moisture until the water mass flow that can be separated out of the exhaust gas is sufficient for the set cooling power of the charge air cooler. Further combustion water that is formed can be used for other purposes. In this way, engines with internal combustion in which water is introduced into the working medium can be operated without an external supply of water.

Method for operating an internal combustion engine

A process is described for the operation of a gas turbine plant with CO as working medium, in which in at least one combustion chamber hydrocarbons are combusted in a CO atmosphere enriched with oxygen to flue gases, which largely consist of CO and H O and which are expanded within a turbine stage following the at least one combustion chamber, and are then compressed in a compressor stage and also at least partially condensed in a following condenser, so that at least portions of the CO and H O are liquefied and partially drawn off together with uncondensed flue gas constituents, and so that a main portion, not drawn off, of liquid CO is compressed by means of a pump unit, preheated in at least one recuperator stage, and is again supplied to the combustion chamber. The invention is distinguished in that the compressed and preheated main portion CO is pre-expanded to a combustion pressure and is supplied to the combustion chamber for combustion with the main portion CO .

Process for the operation of a gas turbine plant

A gas turbine set with sequential combustion is provided with a waste-heat boiler suitable for the generation of synthesis gas. The gas turbine set then operates with chemical recouperation of the exhaust-gas heat. By means of such a power plant, efficiencies can be achieved which come close to those of combined cycle plants. The highest efficiencies are achieved when, in a gas turbine set with sequential combustion, the reactor gas is fired, for as large a part as possible, in a combustion chamber of a highest pressure stage. In order to achieve a particular rate of conversion of hydrocarbon-containing crude fuel and superheated steam into synthesis gas, the reactor has to be brought to a minimum temperature which may be above the temperature of the expanded working medium of the gas turbine. This temperature increase can be ensured by means of additional firing. The additional firing may also be used for starting the production of synthesis gas when a starting-air device is present.

Method for operating a power plant

In a method of operating a power station plant with a closed or virtually closed CO,process, a fuel quantity (,) and oxygen (,) required in this regard for the oxidation are introduced into the cycle for the internal combustion. A recuperator (,) acts on the downstream side of a turbine (,) belonging to the power station plant, at least one heat sink (,) operating downstream of this recuperator before the cycle medium (,) flows back into a compressor (,) which likewise belongs to the power station plant. A partial quantity of the compressed cycle medium (,) is directed into a condensing plant, the liquid CO,formed here being disposed of in the best possible way.

Method of operating a power plant with recycled CO2

In a method of operating a power station plant which essentially comprises a gas-turbine group and a steam circuit arranged downstream, a portion of the condensate collecting from this steam circuit is directed to an intercooler, which belongs to the compressor of the gas-turbine group and in which the condensate is heated up to form hot water. This hot water is then introduced directly or via a further heating-up means into the gas-turbine group at a suitable point.

Method of operating a power station plant

In a method for regulation a gas turbo-generator set operated with sequential combustion, the fuel quantity necessary for operating the first combustion changer is first controlled as a function of a pressure prevailing at the outlet of the compressor. The ratio between this fuel quantity and this pressure is continuously updated by means of a factor reproducing the deviation of a temperature at the inlet into the first turbine from the desired value of this temperature. A fuel quantity necessary for operating the second combustion chamber is controlled as a function of a pressure prevailing at the inlet into the second turbine, and the ratio between this fuel quantity and this pressure is likewise continually updated by means of a factor reproducing the deviation of the inlet temperature into the second turbine from the desired value of this temperature. The inertias in the system are neutralized by means of this pressure backup regulation.

Method for regulating a gas turbo-generator set

In a method for operating a gas turbogenerator set, an exhaust gas stream (,) from the last turbine (,) is divided at least into two part streams (,) routed in parallel. The first part stream (,) flows through a recuperator (,), and the second part stream (,) flows through a steam generator (,). The steam quantity (,) obtained from the steam generator (,) is introduced at a suitable point into combustion air (,) used for operating a combustion chamber (,) belonging to the gas turbogenerator set. The exhaust gases from the turbine are consequently optimally cooled to good effect, this resulting in maximized efficiency.

Method for operating a gas turbogenerator set

In a method for operating a gas turbo-generator set (GT), the caloric potential of the exhaust gases (,) from the gas turbo-generator set (GT) is utilized by guiding them through a heat exchanger (,) which is operatively connected to a hot-air turbo-generator set (LT). A compressor (,) associated with this hot-air turbo-generator set (LT) is operated isothermally by means of point-focused or continuous water injection (,), and, after expansion (,) has taken place, the injected water is collected by condensation (,) in a separator (,). A circuit is thus provided, in which the adaptation of assemblies in order to achieve maximized efficiency is avoided.
