A patient module () is intended for use together with a pressure source (). The patient module () couples the pressure source () for flow to a patient interface () that can be connected to the airways of a patient. The patient module () includes at least one valve device (), which can be controlled by means of a piezo pump, which acts as a valve drive () and can preferably be operated at a high frequency. The at least one valve device () acts as an exhalation valve ().

Device for ventilating a patient

A measurement system () determines gas concentrations in a gas mixture of a gas sample by utilizing thermal conductivities and paramagnetic effects of thermal conductivities in the gas mixture involving data sets (). A circuit arrangement provides measured values with an AC signal component and with a DC signal component to a calculation and control unit (). An oxygen concentration in the gas mixture of the gas sample is determined based on the standardized AC signal components and a concentration of another gas in the gas mixture of the gas sample is determined based on the standardized DC voltage signal components. Output signals are generated by the calculation and control unit, which indicate the determined oxygen concentration and the determined concentration of another gas in the gas mixture of the gas sample.

Measuring system for determining gas concentrations

A pump system () has a central pump unit (), with which at least one hook-up unit (). The at least one hook-up unit () is from a group of a plurality of hook-up units () that can be combined in modular form for setting an operating point of a pump () that forms the pump unit (). A method uses such a hook-up unit () in a pump system () for setting an operating point of the pump unit () thereof. A medical device is provided with such a pump unit () or with such a pump unit () and at least one hook-up unit () combined with the pump unit ().

Pump system, use of a pneumatic resistance and medical device or gas-measuring device

A process for ventilating a patient as well as a device—patient module ()—operating according to the process, wherein, for example, a body weight value concerning an estimated body weight of the patient is transmitted to a patient module () intended for ventilating the patient, wherein the patient module () automatically selects ventilation parameters () fitting the body weight value on the basis of the body weight value and wherein the ventilation of the patient is carried out with the selected ventilation parameters ().

Process and device for ventilating a patient

A device (), for a ventilation system (), includes an inhalation valve () with an inhalation opening () for flow () of breathing gas () into a pressure chamber () to provide breathing gas in the pressure chamber for ventilating a patient (). A closing element () is arranged movably, to close the inhalation opening to flow in a closed position () and to at least partially release flow in an open position (). A transmission device () is connected via a connection element () to the closing element, to hold the closing element in the closed position in a starting position of the transmission device, such that the inhalation valve is normally closed. A control pressure source () provides a control pressure (PS) in a control pressure chamber () for the transmission device to move the transmission device out of the starting position by the control pressure.

Device with an inhalation valve for a ventilation system

A micropump system () for a compressible fluid () includes a plurality of micropumps (), rigid flow duct elements (), a control unit (), and one or two printed circuit boards (). The micropumps have an intake opening () and an outlet opening (). The rigid flow duct elements are connected to a respective micropump via a respective, elastically sealed port () and with the micropumps form a flow path () for the fluid. The one or two printed circuit boards are arranged and configured to electrically connect the control unit to the plurality of micropumps. Each micropump is rigidly fastened to the one or two printed circuit boards via a respective fastening device. A pressure build-up of the fluid flowing through the plurality of micropumps during the use, which is cascaded due to the plurality of micropumps, is provided at a system outlet () of the micropump system.

Compressible fluid micropump system and process

A process for operating a ventilator () and a ventilator () operating according to the process are provided. A pressure target value (p) is determined during a phase of exhalation () as a function of a compliance (C) determined in relation to the lungs () of a patient being ventilated by means of the ventilator ().

Process for operating a ventilator and ventilator operating according to the process

A patient module () is intended for use when ventilating a patient with a pressure source () that can be fluidically coupled via the patient module () to a patient interface (), which can be connected to the airways of a patient. The patient module () includes a housing () and a valve section () in the housing () as well as an HME filter () spaced apart from the valve section (). The HME filter () is located upstream of the valve section () in relation to an expiratory volume flow, so that the HME filter () divides an interior of the housing () into a dry area and an area coming into contact with the moisture carried along by the exhaled breathing gas. The valve section () is located in the dry area. A process for operating the patient module () includes calibration steps.

Device for ventilating a patient and process for the operation of the device

A reaction carrier (), a measuring device () and a measuring method for measuring a concentration of gaseous/aerosol components of a gas mixture uses reaction material () which reacts in an optically detectable manner with at least one component to be measured or with a reaction product of the component to be measured. The reaction carrier includes a flow channel () with sections () and extends between connecting elements (). A gas treatment element (), in each of the sections, changes chemical or physical properties of the gas mixture flowing therethrough or reacts, depending on the chemical or physical properties. The sections are separated from each other in a gas-tight manner by a separating element (). A coupling element () opens the separating element and establishes a connection between the sections when the coupling element is activated. The measuring device includes an activation element () to activate the coupling element.

Measuring device, reaction carrier and measuring method

A method controls an expiratory gas flow at a user interface () of a ventilator () wherein the user interface () has an exhalation valve (), which provides a positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP). The method includes the following steps during a phase of exhalation: changing the positive end-expiratory pressure from a basic PEEP value () with the exhalation valve (); returning the positive end-expiratory pressure to the basic PEEP value () with the exhalation valve (); and determining an exhalation parameter. The method permits an adaptive change in the expiratory flow during the exhalation. Air trapping can be avoided, and it is possible to respond to changed exhalation parameters within one and the same phase of exhalation.

Method and device for the adaptive regulation of a positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP)

A system () for ventilating patients includes a gas passage unit (), which has a first inlet opening () with a fluid-communicating connection to a pressurized gas source () and an outlet opening () connected to the first inlet opening () in a manner. A patient interface (), for ventilation, includes an interface inlet opening (). A gas line element () has a fluid-communicating connection to the outlet opening () and to the interface inlet opening (). A controllable pressure change element () is provided between the first inlet opening () and the interface inlet opening (). A second inlet opening () has a fluid-communicating connection to the gas line element (). A control unit () controls the controllable pressure change element (). A device or a system (), which provides fully adequate ventilation with high performance with minimal expenditure for hardware, is provided.

System for ventilating patients

A gas measurement system for measuring the concentration of gaseous and/or vaporous components of a gas mixture by means of the color change of at least one reaction substance on a reaction support unit in which the at least one reaction substance is arranged on the reaction support unit separately within at least two light permeable channels is provided in such a manner that data can be read out reliably at low technical expense. The data reading device can be designed as a digital camera and/or as a reading apparatus for an electronic data storage device.

Gas measurement system

A process for operating a gas sensor (), which process includes a calibration of the gas sensor (). A test gas () is drawn in via a pump () coupled with the gas sensor (), whereby the test gas () is supplied to the gas sensor (). Different volume flows are generated by the pump () and respective volume flow-dependent measured values () are detected by the pump (). The volume flow-dependent measured values () are recorded together with the respective volume flow. A sensor control unit and a computer program functioning as a control program () are provided to implement the process.

Process for calibrating a gas sensor and for the subsequent use of the calibrated gas sensor

A devicewithdraws a breathing gas stream (A) from a ventilation system (B) and transports the breathing gas stream (A) to a gas analysis system (G). The devicehas a tubular configuration with an inner side () and with an outer side () and includes two tube sections (') and a drying stage () with an inner side (&#x2032;) and with an outer side (&#x2032;), and at least one liquid storage device (). The drying stage () includes a gas-tight and moisture-permeable material that transports moisture from the inner side (&#x2032;) of the drying stage () through the gas-tight and moisture-permeable material to the outer side () of the tubular device (). The drying stage () and/or the liquid storage device () is arranged at least partially between the two tube sections (&#x2032;).
