An Electronic Control Unit (ECU), and a method and a computer program product are provided for the control of a drive train for a hybrid vehicle, and a drive train including such a control device is also provided. The hybrid vehicle includes an upstream located Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) which is connected to an Electronic Motor/Generator (EMG) via a Master Clutch (MC). The EMG is connected to the wheels via a Mechanical Transmission (MT) including synchronization. The ECU is programmed to control the MC and the MT when shifting from a generating mode, in which the ICE is powering the EMG at or near standstill, to a driving mode in such a way that at least a part of the inertial energy liberated when retarding the EMG in order to synchronize the rotational speed of the EMG and the MT is transferred to the wheels by using the synchronization in the MT to retard the EMG and transfer of power to the wheels.

Transmission control system in vehicles

A method and drive train for performing a gearshift from a first gear to a second gear in a vehicle provided with a manual or automated manual transmission is provided. A drivetrain incorporating the automated manual transmission includes an engine, connected via a clutch to an electric motor/generator, which in turn is connected to the manual or automated manual transmission and wherein the electric motor/generator is connected to a battery, other energy storing devices or a heating element. The method includes controlling the motor/generator to absorb a torque equalling the torque provided by the engine, such that the manual or automated manual transmission transfers a only minor, or no, torque, disengaging the first gear, controlling the torques absorbed by the motor/generator and provided by the engine such that an engine speed correlates to the engine speed necessary for propelling the vehicle at the second gear, and engaging the second gear.

Method and drive train for performing a gear shift in a vehicle

Arrangement for a power electronics unit in a hybrid vehicle power train, where all attachment points have a total thermal conductivity corresponding to less than 10 degrees temperature difference on a Kelvin-scale between electronics of said power electronics unit and the outside of said first transmission side for 5 kW of heat originating from one side of said attachment point. Arrangements including sound damping capabilities are disclosed. The arrangement can provide fewer parts and increased functionality of the power electronics unit.

Arrangement for a power electronics unit in a hybrid vehicle

A vehicle includes a front axle and rear axle, where at least one of said axles is driven, an engine arranged in the vicinity of the rear or front end of said vehicle, the engine including an output shaft connected to the driven axle via a transmission system for transmitting driving power from the engine to the driven axle. The transmission system includes at least a multiple-speed gearbox for causing variable gear ratio between the engine and driven axle. The engine and at least a part of the gearbox are arranged on each side of the driven axle, and are connected only via a power transmitting device so that an engine block of the engine is separated from a gearbox housing of the gearbox.

Device for engine-driven goods vehicle

Drive shaft coupling having in-series bellows segments of different flexural resistance. The bellows segment nearest a tube section presents less flexural resistance than the immediate following bellows segment. Each individual bellows segment may be dimensioned in such a way that stress is distributed evenly over all bellows segments so that the component may be optimized; for example, with respect to installation and strength. The variations in flexural resistance between the adjacent bellows segments may be produced by variations in the thickness of material of the bellows segments, variations in the outside diameter of the bellows segments, variations in the inside diameter of the bellows segments, variation of the radial angles of each bellows diaphragm in relation to the longitudinal axis of the coupling member, variation of the distance between adjacently positioned bellows segments, and/or variation of the composition of the material of construction of the bellows segments, including varying a mixture of glass fiber and carbon fiber in an epoxy composite material of construction, as well as the directions of orientation of the constituent fibers.
