A servicing arrangement selectively displaceable along an open-end spinning machine which includes a number of individual spinning stations. At least one measuring head is arranged on the displaceable servicing means so as to selectively monitor the quality of the running thread or yarn at the individual spinning stations. A control apparatus is operatively associated with the measuring head and receives signals therefrom, whereby the control apparatus regulates elements for arresting a spinning operation at a spinning station and/or marks individual spinning stations and/or blocks a piecing operation at the spinning stations when the quality of the running thread or yarn at such stations is below a predetermined quality.

Mobile servicing arrangement for open-end spinning machines

An open-end spinning aggregate with a housing connected to a vacuum source, in which is arranged a spinning rotor provided with an open end-face, into which projects an insert leaving an annular gap and containing a central filament removal channel as well as a fiber feed channel whose orifice is disposed opposite a fiber-collecting surface of the spinning rotor which extends from the open end-face up to a fiber-collecting groove occupying the area of the largest diameter of the spinning rotor; ventilating bores are provided in the wall surface opposite the fiber-collecting surface with respect to the fiber-collecting groove whose axes extend at least approximately parallel to the axis of rotation of the spinning rotor.

Open-end spinning aggregate

Open-end spinning assembly apparatus including an opener roll disposed in and rotatably supported in a bearing carried by an opener roll housing, with the opener roll and roll housing being constructed together as a detachable structural unit so as to accommodate simple exchange of the opener roll and bearing assembly. In preferred embodiments, the opener roll housing is thrust onto a support shaft and held in position by means of a spring supported and carried by a cover plate for the spinning assembly. A supplementary spring is provided for rotatably biasing the opener roll housing toward a position away from driving engagement with a tangential belt whenever said cover plate for the spinning assembly is opened or removed.

A guide track arrangement for displaceably guiding one or more servicing units at an open-end spinning machine which includes a number of individual spinning units disposed side-by-side. The guide track arrangement includes at least one rail for receiving runners of the one or more servicing units with the at least one rail being fashioned as a supporting profile having attached thereto a guiding profile for guiding the runners of the service unit or units. The guide profile is adjustably secured at the supporting profile at least in a direction of an occurring load on the guide track. A measuring unit is provided which includes a measuring index cooperable with a further index at the spinning units of the spinning machine so as to facilitate adjusting of the guide profile at the supporting profile.

In order to reduce the noise generated by the bearing means for a spinning rotor in which the spinning rotor is mounted in a wedge formed by supporting rings and driven by a tangential belt, one common pillow block is provided for all of the supporting rings of a spinning unit, whereby the pillow block is supported in an elastic manner. The bearing conditions do not change in spite of the resiliency, as the individual members do not perform any relative motions one to the other. In order to further preclude the formation of undesired axial forces as a result of the movement of the shaft of the spinning rotor relative to the tangential belt, the elastic supporting means permit movements in only one specific direction, thereby preventing alteration of the axial force between tangential belt and spinning rotor.

Bearing means for spinning rotors of an open-end spinning machine

A fiber supply duct for an open-end spinning unit of the type having an opening device, such as an opening roller, for the opening of continuously fed fiber material. The fiber supply duct extends from the opening device and terminates in a spinning rotor with an air current effecting a conveyance of the fibers being generated in the fiber supply duct by means of a negative pressure ambient produced in the zone of the spinning rotor. The fiber supply duct is provided with a steadily widening flaring mouth section in the zone of the spinning rotor.

A drawing system arrangement for spinning machines, in which there are at least two dies for holding the bottom rollers of the drawing system and the dies are connected by a carrying rod. In the new embodiment, the carrying rod is at least twice as long as the distance between two adjacent dies; the carrying rod is attached directly to the machine frame and supports the dies attached to it in addition to the top roller carrying and loading arm.

In order to be able to start-spin on the individual spinning units of an open-end spinning machine under conditions which deviate from the operating conditions and which are, in particular, significantly more favourable for start-spinning, the end of the thread is placed on a ring of fibres located in the spinning rotor at a spinning rotor speed which is reduced relative to the operating speed. At the same time, the sliver feed is reduced in such a manner that the amount of sliver feed corresponds to the reduced speed of the spinning rotor. This reduced sliver speed is produced by a mobile start-spinning unit which is equipped with means which intervene in the drive and/or control of the drive or control means causing feed of the sliver.

Method and apparatus for start-spinning a thread on an open-end spinning

An open-end spinning unit having a plurality of spinning points, each having a spinning rotor which is provided with a shaft for mounting and drive. The shafts of the spinning rotors extend into bearing housings, in which means are arranged for mounting the shafts and means are arranged for driving the shafts. To provide effective cooling of the high-speed means for mounting and/or driving, cooling air is provided to these means for mounting and/or driving directly by means of openings in the walls of the bearing housings with the shortest possible path.
