A method for pressurizing exhaust gases from a turbine power plant includes the steps of: applying a pressure to at least a proportion, in particular a proportion rich in carbon dioxide, of the exhaust gases from the power plant by way of a fluid operating machine of a pressurization device, and applying a torque to the fluid operating machine and/or driving the fluid operating machine by way of such a torque, which is present at an output shaft of a main turbine of the power plant.

A hydrodynamic converter has a working chamber through which an operating medium can flow. A pump wheel is connected to a drive shaft and a turbine wheel is connected to a driven shaft. At least one positioning blade can be adjusted by an adjustment device. In order to provide a compactly formed and robust hydrodynamic converter of this type, having a hard-wearing adjustment device for adjusting at least one positioning vane, the adjustment device includes an actuating drive with ring elements. Each ring element is disposed coaxially in relation to the drive shaft. A first ring element is connected to the at least one positioning blade for transmitting a positioning force or a positioning torque via a diverting device. The first ring element can be rotated relative to a second ring element in the circumferential direction of the drive shaft.

Hydrodynamic converter and adjustment device for a converter of this type

A power transmission device includes a hydrodynamic converter. The blading of the pump wheel and/or turbine wheels includes at least one adjusting blade which can be actuated by an adjusting device, and/or at least one multi-element blade having at least one adjustable blade segment.

An axial thrust offloading device for axial thrust balance of a machine shaft including a thrust balance ring with a supply channel for a pressurized medium opening into an annular space on the ring's face, first and second side disks disposed axially adjacent to and on opposed sides of the ring and forming first and second pressure chambers closed off on an exit flow inside by a labyrinth seal and on an inlet flow side to a pressurized medium via first and second restrictor locations, and a disk-shaped restrictor element disposed in the annular space, wherein relative axial movement between the ring and the restrictor element provides for reciprocal opening of the first and second restrictor locations to form a pressure difference between the first and second chambers.

The invention relates to a high power machine unit. Said invention is characterized by the following features: a drive which has an output shaft; a machine which has a drive shaft; a converter () which is connected between drive and machine and can be filled and emptied; having a toothed clutch () which can be engaged and disengaged and is connected in parallel with the converter (); one half () is firmly connected to the output shaft of the drive so as to rotate with it; the other half () of the clutch is firmly connected to the drive shaft of the machine so as to rotate with it.

A hydrodynamic converter is provided having a pump wheel, which is flowed through in operation from the inside to the outside; a turbine wheel, which is flowed through in operation from the outside to the inside; guide blades between the pump wheel and the turbine wheel; and guide blades between the turbine wheel and the pump wheel. The converter can have a speed ratio of between the speed nof the turbine wheel and the speed nof the pump wheel of between 1.2 and 4 at approximately even or falling &#x3bb; progress. The converter can also have different speed ratios between pump and turbine, which can be realized with the ratio R/r equal to or larger than 1.

Hydrodynamic converter

The invention relates to a hydrodynamic converter comprising a torus-shaped working chamber surrounding the converter axis, said chamber having the form of a ring channel in an axial cross-section; an impeller which is rotationally fixed to an input shaft; a turbine wheel which is rotationally fixed to an output shaft, and a ring of adjustable guide vanes. The converter is designed in such a way that it has a lambda value of less than 0.0005.
