The invention relates to a material board () which comprises a core () and a first cover layer () and a second cover layer (), each of which is formed by a mixture () formed by lignin-containing particles () and binder, which mixture is designed to form a solid body structure in a chemical binding process. The aim is to provide a material panel, which, for ecological and economical reasons, comprises a high proportion of particles based on annual plants and still exhibits good mechanical properties. Another object of the invention can be considered that of ensuring that the system load is kept relatively low during the production process. Another object can be considered that of keeping the proportion of stock removal low. According to the invention, at least 70%, preferably at least 80%, most preferably at least 90% of the particles () associated with the mixture () of the core () are obtained from annual plants, and at least 70%, preferably at least 80%, most preferably at least 90% of the particles () associated with the mixtures () of the two cover layers () are obtained from perennial plants. The invention further relates to the use of a material board and to a method for producing a material board. Finally, the invention relates to a system for producing a material board.

The paper machine, the calender, the longitudinal cutting device, and the reel winding device are successively arranged in a web run direction.

Roll winding device and method. The roll winding device has two carrying rollers defining a winding bed adapted to receive a wound roll. Each roller has a respective longitudinal axis, the longitudinal axes being substantially parallel to one another. The device includes a pressure chamber arrangement having opposed sides, opposed ends and a bottom, each side being defined by a respective carrying roller, the bottom being defined by a sealing body, and an end wall present at each opposed end. The double-soft nip(s) are formed by two rolls, each with an elastic surface layer. At least one of the rolls forming the double-soft nip is heated. In a process using the calendar to treat a material web, the web is introduced into a roll stack having at least two rolls formed with an elastic surface layer over a rigid core, agglomerated in an elastic double-soft nip between the two rolls, heated to introduce energy into the material web and promote agglomerating, and smoothed in the elastic double-soft nip.

Method and apparatus for monitoring a winding hardness of a winding roll when winding a material web. A series of marks are placed on the material web at a first location as it is wound onto the winding roll. The distance between two successive marks is detected at a second location. The detected distance of two successive marks is used to determine a stretch of the material web.

A calender has at least four rollers that are located one above the other. The rollers rotate about roller bearings. The calender is located within a paper-making machine. The outer coverings of the soft rollers are made of a synthetic material that is not sensitive to marking so that a doctor blade can be applied to the soft rollers. A method and device for packaging a roll formed by a wound web of material. The roll has a first axial end and a second axial end. The method includes the steps of (1) wrapping the roll with a web of packaging material; (2) forming an axial projecting length at each axial end of the packaging material; (3) placing an end cover against each axial end of the roll at a predetermined angle with respect to the axial end of the roll; and (4) folding each axial projecting length in onto the respective axial end of the roll thereby causing each end cover to move into contact with the respective axial end of the roll. The device includes a winding device that has a dispenser for the web of packaging material, a roller drive and a folding device to fold an axial projecting length of a web of packaging material onto at least one of the axial ends of the roll. An end cover feed device is disposed adjacent to the at least one of the axial ends of the roll. The end cover feed device includes a slide surface that is inclined with respect to the axis of the roll. The slide surface has a distal end that is spaced by a predetermined distance from the at least one of the axial ends of the roll. A line extending from the distal end of the slide surface intersects an outer peripheral edge of the at least one of the axial ends of the roll.

Method and device for packaging a roll formed by a wound web of material

A method and apparatus for processing a longitudinally traveling web of material using a sheet treating device positioned in a transverse direction relative to the web. The sheet treating device having a plurality of individually controllable zones for controlling a target parameter of the web, for example, the thickness, bulk, dampness, smoothness or sheen of the web. In conjunction with the sheetmaking device, a measuring instrument for measuring an actual value of the target parameter is placed downstream of the sheet treating device. An actual profile that is determined by the actual values is compared with a desired profile, and the zones of the sheet treating device are adjusted such that the discrepancies between the two profiles are minimized. To improve the matching of the actual profile to the desired profile even further, the web and/or the sheet treating device are shifted relative to the other in the transverse direction to minimize the discrepancies between the two profiles.

A calender having one stack of rollers has a working nip formed between a hard roller and a soft roller. A changeover nip is formed between adjacent soft rollers. The changeover nip is arranged approximately in the center of the roller stack. The cumulative weight of the rollers is such that the sum of the loads per unit of length of the working nips disposed above the changeover nip is at least 80 percent of the sum of the loads per unit of length of the working nips disposed below the changeover nip.

Calender for the treatment of a paper web

A winding device for supporting a winding roller for web material, in particular, for paper, has a supporting arrangement which works from underneath in opposition to a deflection of the winding roller and which creates a compressed air cushion between the supporting arrangement and the winding roller. The air cushion is created by means of an over-pressure in a space between the support rollers that are placed underneath the winding roller. However, due to the changing winding radius, the sealing at the ends of the winding space is difficult to maintain. In order to achieve a support of the winding roller that is free of support rollers and that smooths the web material, it is now provided that the supporting arrangement has at least one support plate with an upper side which is substantially matched to the contour of the under side of the winding roller and in which there is configured at least one compressed air outlet opening, that the compressed air can exit through a gap between the winding roller and the support plate, and that the support plate can automatically adjust itself radially to the winding roller in accordance with the winding diameter.

A method and apparatus for processing a web of material, which is dispensed from a roll and fed through at least one roller gap of a roller-gap system which includes a processing station, an unrolling station on the input side of the processing station, and a roll magazine on the input side of the unrolling station which magazine includes at least one roll storage position. When rolls of web material are processed, the processing delay times lead to an uneven distribution of the temperature and/or moisture within the roll which in turn causes nonuniformity of the results in the processing station. The web of material still on the roll is exposed, prior to being unrolled, to a preselected atmospheric environment for a predetermined minimum length of time. Accordingly, the roll storage position is located in a chamber, the atmosphere of which can be controlled to a preset temperature and/or humidity level.

Method and apparatus for processing a web of material

A jacket with a thermally insulating layer partially surrounds, at a small spacing, a heatable roll which serves for the treatment of webs of material, in particular paper webs. Under production conditions the jacket reduces heat losses from the roll through convection and radiation to the environment. The jacket has a device which, with an interruption of production, ensures a forced convection at the heated roll for the cooling of the surface to a temperature level which is same or only insubstantially higher than in the production state. Several cooling nozzles are conceivable for the said apparatus which are secured to the jacket and direct a coolant onto the roll surface.

A method and an arrangement for the packaging of a material-web roll, includes the roll being surrounded on all sides by packaging material. The packaging material is closed by a pleating device for the pleating of the axial projections of the packaging material on the end faces of the roll. A device for applying the outer end face covers is also included. When packaging the roll, air is enclosed within the package which often results in a bursting of the package when the roll is being deposited on one of its end faces. To avoid this bursting, a portion of the air mass is removed from the interior of the packaging material and after closing the package, the volume of the still enclosed air is being reduced by the provision of a heating device for heating at least a portion of the air volume being enclosed by the packaging.
