In order to achieve as reliable a safety functioning as possible with as simple a construction as possible in the case of a trailer coupling for motor vehicles, comprising a bearing part arranged so as to be fixed on the vehicle, a ball neck which can be moved in relation to the bearing part between an operative position and a rest position and is mounted so as to be rotatable, a ball neck fixing means with form locking elements which can be transferred by way of relative movement from a fixing position into a release position and vice versa, and a mechanical positioning device, with which the relative movement of the form locking elements can be brought about for reaching the fixing position and the release position, it is suggested that form locking elements be arranged on the bearing part and form locking elements be arranged on the bearing head, that the bearing head be movable relative to the bearing part in a direction transverse to a pivoting direction in order to move the form locking elements between the fixing position and the release position, that the positioning device be adapted to be brought into a fixing position and be adapted to be brought into a release position, and that the positioning device have a force storing means which generates in the release position a restoring force which acts in the direction of a transfer into the fixing position.

Trailer coupling

In order to provide a wind stop device for a passenger vehicle with a roll bar, comprising surface elements of the wind stop device and a supporting device for the surface elements of the wind stop device which can be secured on the roll bar, which can be assembled in a simple manner and quickly it is suggested that the supporting device be provided with at least two holding brackets arranged in spaced relationship, wherein the holding brackets are arranged and designed such that they can be abutted on respective bar sections of the roll bar for securing the supporting device on the roll bar.

Wind stop device

A swivelling spare wheel carrier for a vehicle is provided which improves rear access to the vehicle body and the tailgate opening. The spare wheel carrier is connected to the vehicle body by a swivel joint. A swivelling axis of the swivel joint is disposed such that, by means of the spare wheel carrier, the spare wheel is movable from a travel position, in which it is behind the tailgate, into a rear access position, in which the spare wheel held by the spare wheel carrier is disposed at least in part with a region overlapping a rear part of a longitudinal side of the vehicle body.

In order to improve a trailer coupling for motor vehicles comprising a pivot bearing body which is rigidly attached to the vehicle and upon which there is mounted a pivotal element that is pivotal about a pivotal axis, a ball neck which extends outwardly from the pivotal element and carries a coupling ball at the end thereof remote from the pivotal element, and a locking device for fixing the pivotal element relative to the pivot bearing body in interlocking manner, so that the locking device is constructed in as simple a manner as possible and can be implemented in simple manner so that it is free of play, it is proposed that the pivotal element is mounted on the pivot bearing body such that it is displaceable along the pivotal axis thereof and that by displacement of the pivotal element along the pivotal axis the pivotal element is moveable into a position wherein it is pivotal relative to the pivot bearing body and into a position wherein it is fixed relative to the pivot bearing body in mutually non-rotatable manner by means of interlocking arrangement.

In order to provide a trailer coupling for motor vehicles, comprising a bearing part arranged fixed to the vehicle and a pivotal part mounted on the bearing part and having a ball neck and a coupling ball, the pivotal part being pivotal in relation to the bearing part about an axis between a rest position and an operative position, in such a way that this trailer coupling may be fixed in the operative position securely and simply, it is proposed that the pivotal part has two abutting elements arranged spaced from one another, that the bearing part is provided with two supporting elements and that, to fix the ball neck in the operative position, one of the supporting elements and one of the abutting elements cooperate such that the ball neck undergoes a pivotal movement in a first direction which is countered by the other of the supporting elements and the other of the abutting elements, and that in so doing the abutting elements and the supporting elements are able to abut against one another without play.

In order to improve a wind stop device for motor vehicles, comprising a wind stop element, a holder for the wind stop element mountable so as to engage a receiving space of a motor vehicle body, the wind stop element being mounted on the holder in such a way that it can be brought from an active position projecting above a girth line of the motor vehicle body to an inactive position lying essentially within an outer contour of the motor vehicle body and vice versa, such that manual transfer from the inactive position to the active position and vice versa can be dispensed with, it is proposed that the wind stop element be transferable between the inactive position and the active position by means of a lifting device provided with an electric drive.

In order to improve a roof load carrier system for motor vehicles, comprising a roof rack with a cross member receiving loads and with holders which are arranged on both sides of the cross member and have holder feet with fixing devices arranged on them, wherein the holder feet can be inserted into receiving means arranged on the vehicle and can be fixed in these with the fixing devices, in such a manner that this is easy to mount and dismount it is suggested that a hand-operated element be arranged on one side of the roof rack, that a coupling device be provided which couples the hand-operated element with the fixing devices such that the fixing devices on both holder feet can be actuated via the hand-operated element.

Roof load carrier system

In order to provide a trailer coupling for motor vehicles, in particular passenger vehicles, comprising a coupling ball, a ball neck, one end region of which is angled and bears the coupling ball, and a drive comprising a drive motor, by means of which the ball neck is movable with the coupling ball from an operative position into a rest position and vice versa, such that this operates as safely as possible it is suggested that a control means be provided for operating the drive, this control mans allowing either movement of the ball neck or traveling of the motor vehicle.

Bearing system for a trailer coupling

A trailer coupling for motor vehicles, in particular passenger vehicles, has a coupling ball and a ball neck. One end region of the neck is angled and bears the coupling ball. Using a drive motor, the ball neck is movable with the coupling ball from an operative position into a rest position, and vice versa. To operate as safely as possible, a control (e.g., interlock) is provided for operating the drive to allow either movement of the ball neck, or traveling of the motor vehicle, but not both at the same time.

In order to provide a trailer coupling for motor vehicles, in particular passenger vehicles, comprising a coupling ball, a coupling neck, the one end region of which is angled and bears the coupling ball, and a contact unit for providing a connection between a vehicle electrical system and a trailer electrical system, which is more easily accessible it is suggested that the contact unit be held on a pivoting arm, that the pivoting arm be mounted on a pivot bearing stationary with respect to the vehicle so as to be pivotable about a pivot axis and that the contact unit be movable with the pivoting arm from an operative position into a rest position and vice versa as a result of a pivoting movement about the pivot axis.

In order to improve a trailer coupling for motor vehicles, in particular, passenger vehicles, comprising a coupling ball, a ball neck, wherein the coupling neck can be pivoted with the coupling ball as a result of pivoting about a single pivot axis from an operative position into a rest position and vice versa, such that this no longer affects the ground clearance in its rest position it is suggested that a projection of a coupling ball central axis onto the vertical longitudinal plane undergo a rotation through an angle of at least 80.degree. during pivoting of the ball neck about the pivot axis from the operative position into the rest position and that a lowest point of ball neck and coupling ball in the rest position be at least at the level of a lowest point of the ball neck in the operative position.
