A seat cushion adjustment for vehicle seats, more particularly the seats of motor vehicles, depends on the adjustment path of at least one main adjustment of the seat and serves for adapting the development curve of the seat cushion adjustment individually and ergonomically. The seat cushion adjustment includes a first adjustment for a main adjustment of the vehicle seat within a defined adjustment area, and a second adjustment coupled to the first adjustment for adjusting the seat cushion in dependence on a main adjustment of the vehicle seat. The seat cushion adjustment also includes a separate adjustment coupled to the first or second adjustment for fixing the development curve of the seat cushion adjustment within a restricted adjustment area, whereby the extreme positions of the seat cushion are associated with the extreme positions of at least one main adjustment of the vehicle seat. Configured in this manner, the seat cushion adjustment eliminates the possibility that the predetermined outer adjustment range limits of the seat cushion will be exceeded.

Seat cushion adjustment for vehicle seats

A manual passive continuous action quick adjustment device for adjusting elements in or on motor vehicles without a separate drive unit comprises a worm rotatably disposed within a housing. The worm comprises a locking region that is configured to engage a locking element disposed within the housing. The worm comprises a toothed section that is threadably engaged with a toothed section of an oppositely oriented toothed segment lever that is connected to the particular device requiring adjustment. The locking region may comprise a circumferential groove near an end portion of the worm and the locking element may comprise a slide configured to accommodate frictional engagement with the groove. The locking region may comprise the front faces of the toothed section of the worm frictionally engaged by a slide. A second locking region may comprise front faces adjacent to ends of the worm frictionally engaged by edge portions of the housing upon radial displacement of the worm by activation of the slide. Alternatively, the toothed segment lever or worm itself may comprise an eccentric member that when activated causes either the lever or worm to be displaced towards one another to block rotational movement of the worm.

Manual passive quick adjustment device

A seat cushion adjustment device depends on an adjustment path of at least one main adjustment of the seat and serves to define a development curve of the seat cushion adjustment individually and ergonomically. The seat cushion adjustment device includes a first adjustment device for a main adjustment of the vehicle seat within a defined adjustment area and a second adjustment device coupled to the first adjustment device for adjusting the seat cushion in dependence on a main adjustment of the seat cushion in dependence on a main adjustment of the vehicle seat. The seat cushion adjustment device also includes a separate adjustment device coupled to said first or second adjustment device for fixing the development curve of the seat cushion adjustment device within a restricted adjustment area, whereby the extreme positions of the seat cushion are associated with the extreme positions of at least one main adjustment of the vehicle seat.

A drive unit with an electric motor (2) for operating a plurality of adjusting devices and axially displaceable coupling elements, in particular for two adjusting devices for a vehicle seat. An electric motor (2) has a motor shaft (20) consisting of a hollow shaft (21) and an axially displaceable interior shaft (22) received therein in a manner fixed against relative rotation which can be connected on both sides, which can be selectively connected in a manner fixed against relative rotation with associated coupling elements (41, 42) of the adjusting devices by coupling elements (23', 24') on the motor side.

The present device generally relates to a seat for a motor vehicle. The seat includes a back rest, seat cushion, and an arrangement for hingedly connecting the back rest with the seat cushion. The connecting arrangement includes an arrangement for producing a rotary movement which takes place optionally starting from a neutral position of a lever into either of two directions of rotation. Essentially, a shaft is only turned by way of the lever so long as the drive lever is moving away from the neutral position whereas, when the drive lever is swivelled towards its neutral position, the shaft is essentially not entrained. Cooperating elements exert different forces on the shaft.

Seat for a motor vehicle

A rear headrest adjusting arrangement in a motor vehicle has a headrest pivot bearing unit that is fixed at the seat and at which two head pad holding devices are disposed that are spaced away from one another in the direction of the pivotal axis. A pivot bearing shaft is provided that has two connecting parts for the holding devices, the connecting parts being spaced away from one another and being connected with the pivot bearing shaft in a torsionally fixed way. A driving motor is provided adjacent to the pivot bearing shaft, the driving motor having a motor shaft that with respect to its axis is parallel to the pivot bearing shaft and having a gearbox that connects the motor shaft with the pivot bearing shaft. This provides the possibility of a motor-driven headrest adjusting arrangement with little installation space for the pivot bearing unit.

A seat longitudinal adjusting mechanism for a motor vehicle seat with a guide rail unit consisting of two rails enclosing therebetween a hollow space and longitudinally displaceably supported at one another. A toothed rack connected with one rail extends within the hollow space, into which engages a pinion supported in a pinion cassette. The pinion is driven by an adjusting gear. For facilitating the assembly, a preassembly rail extending in the rail longitudinal direction is provided which includes fastening means for fastening the pinion cassette at the preassembly rail, independently of the rails, whereby the length of the preassembly rail is essentially equal to the distance of the pinion cassette from one end of the other rail. The preassembly rail preassembled together with the pinion cassette can then be inserted correspondingly into the other rail.

A mounting arrangement for a vehicle seat assembly including an electrically operated seat adjusting device which permits expedient fastening of the seat assembly to a vehicle floor and which essentially consists of lockable engaging connections provided on at least one side of the seat adjusting device as the fastening mechanism between the seat adjusting device and the vehicle floor and/or between a seat shell of the seat assembly and the seat adjusting device. On the opposite side of the seat adjusting device there are provided fastening connections preferably formed as screw connections which may be tightened to lock said engaging connections for a firm fastening of the assembly. The seat adjusting device is adapted to be manually operated by an auxiliary actuating device in the event of malfunction of elements thereof such as drive motors, gear units or interconnecting flexible shafts.

A seat adjustment mechanism especially suited for motor vehicle seats is composed of at least one motor mechanism for adjustably moving a seat member through a drive connection having at least two mutually engaging force transmission parts. In order to avoid rattling of the adjustment mechanism when adjusting movement of the seat is to be effected in a direction where the adjusting movement is abetted by the weight of the seat member itself, a braking device is provided which counteracts the adjusting force of the motor mechanism applied in that direction.

In an adjusting device for a seat in a motor vehicle, a sliding seat guiding mechanism moves the seat in a generally horizontal direction. The guide mechanism includes an upper part secured to the seat and a support member secured to the floor of the vehicle. A rack is attached to the upper part and is driven by a pinion mounted on the support member for moving the seat in the generally horizontal direction. The rack is adjustably mounted on the upper part to permit limited movement of the rack in the generally vertical direction disposed transversely of the generally horizontal direction of movement of the seat so that proper engagement of the rack and the pinion is assured.

The window in the door of a motorcar may be raised and lowered by means of a lifting mechanism including an electric motor connected to a speed reducing, worm gear transmission and a lifting arm turned by the output shaft of the transmission through further speed-reducing gears. The stroke of the window movement is limited by cooperating fixed, but adjustable abutments on supporting structure and an abutment connected to the output shaft of the worm gear transmission for joint rotation.

Adjusting mechanism for the seat of an automotive vehicle

The window in the door of an automotive vehicle is raised and lowered by means of an externally threaded, longitudinally moving cable. The drive arrangement for the cable includes a shell having first and second shell portions of which at least one is formed with an aperture. A pinion is rotatably secured between the shell portions and journaled in the aperture of apertures. A first group of fastening devices fastens the first shell portion to the second shell portion in a predetermined position, but may also fasten the shell portions to one another in each of a plurality of other positions angularly offset about the axis of pinion rotation from the predetermined position. The shell portions define therebetween respective passages through the shell in the several positions of the first shell portion, the passages being approximately tangential relative to the pinion and angularly offset from each other about the axis of the pinion. Each passage is associated with one of the positions of the first shell portion, and the externally threaded cable is movably received in the passage associated with the predetermined position of the first shell portion, but dimensioned for longitudinal movement in each of the other passages. A second group of fastening devices permits the second shell portion to be fastened to the vehicle door.
