The invention relates to a device for recovering anaesthetics in anaesthetic treatment of a patient. The device comprises a housing having a first opening and a second opening for the formation of a flow path in the housing for a breathing medium. In the housing, an absorption body having the capacity of absorbing and desorbing anaesthetics is arranged. According to the invention, there is valve means for the switch-over between an active position, in which the flow path passes through the absorption body, and a passive position, in which the flow path does not pass through the absorption body. The absorption body retains unchanged location in the housing in both valve positions. The invention also relates to a method for, in a corresponding way, controlling a device for recovering anaesthetics.

A breathing protector for a laryngectomized or tracheotemized person to be applied over a tracheostoma includes a heat-moisture exchanger body which communicates with the tracheostoma through an inlet (relative to exhaling) and has contact surface turned toward the person. A substantially flat surface layer on the body faces the neck when the breathing protector is applied to the neck covering the stoma and is dimensioned to extend beyond the stoma to cover also a part of the neck surrounding the stoma. A elate covers a flat end surface on the heat-moisture exchanger body which is sandwiched between the surface layer and the plate. An outlet opening extends along the periphery of the heat-moisture exchanger body between the surface layer and the plate to impart to respiration air at least one component which is substantially parallel with the surface layer.

Breathing protector

A device for recovering anaesthetic. During the administration of inhaled anaesthetic, the device is connected to a patient. It includes an anaesthetic evaporator for supplying anaesthetic to the patient and an absorption filter for absorption and desorption of the medium. The device includes a body placed between the absorption filter and the patient with the gases breathed by the patient passing across the body and the anaesthetic evaporating on the surface thereof. The absorption filter is in the form of a flat element placed in the flow path of a gas breathed by the patient and contains fibers of active carbon. The absorption filter is movably arranged in a housing between a position in which substantially all the gases breathed pass through the filter and the position in which a small portion of the gases breathed passes therethrough.

Device for recovering anaesthetic

The invention relates to a regenerative absorber device (,) for the removal of CO,from expiration gases during anesthesia. Purification system

A gas supply apparatus for supplying anesthetic to a human or animal. A vaporizer has a vaporization chamber which includes a gas inlet and outlet. A liquid emitting device in the vaporization chamber communicates with an external liquid source through a liquid delivery. The liquid to be vaporized is exposed to the bypassing gas by way of the liquid emitting device. The liquid is exposed exclusively by way of the porosities in the liquid emitting device. A heater is provided for heating said liquid.

Gas supply apparatus and method for the supply of treatment gas to a person or to an animal

The invention relates to a device and method for recovering anaesthetic during the use of inhaled anaesthetics. An anaesthetic reflector (,) is used which absorbs anaesthetic medium from the gas exhaled by the patient and desorbs anaesthetic medium to the gas inhaled by the patient. According to the invention a moisture-heat exchanger (,) is arranged in the system which, in an equivalent manner, recovers water vapor from the gas exhaled to the gas inhaled. The moisture-heat exchanger (,) is preferably located between the anaesthetic reflector (,) and the patient (,). The device and the method according to the invention enable the gas inhaled to be moistened to prevent dehydration, as well as increasing the efficiency of the reflector (,).

A heat and moisture exchanger, which is intended to be connected to a patient to humidify and warm the air inhaled by him, comprises a heat and moisture exchanger unit which includes a plurality of axially oriented layers and a warming device disposed adjacent thereto to increase the heat supply to the air inhaled. The exchanger further includes a humidifying device to increase the humidity of the air inhaled. The humidifying device includes a diffusion rod bearing on one end surface of the heat and moisture exchanger unit, the length of the diffusion rod being substantially equal to the radial extension of the heat and moisture exchanger.

A breathing device for tracheotomy patients, comprising a holder (12) detachably connected to the outer end of a tracheal cannula (11) or to a stoma in the patient's throat, the holder holding detachably a regenerative heat-moisture exchanger (14). The holder (12) is an air-proof receptacle having a first opening (12a) communicating with the outer end (11b) of the tracheal cannula (11) or with the stoma in the throat and a second opening (12b) situated opposite the first opening.
