Provided herein is a self-lubricating silicone elastomer composition and a self-lubricating, elastomeric material made therefrom which has a low coefficient of friction and avoids the need for 'self-bleeding'. The self-lubricating silicone elastomer composition comprises: (i) 50 to 75% by weight of one or more polydiorganosiloxane polymer(s) containing from 0.01 to 0.1% by weight of alkenyl and/or alkynyl content; (ii) 3 to 15% by weight of a polydiorganosiloxane polymer having ≥0.5% by weight of alkenyl or alkynyl content; (iii) 10 to 35% by weight of reinforcing filler; and either or both of (iv) a peroxide catalyst; or (v) a hydrosilylation catalyst package.

Silicone elastomer compositions and elastomeric materials

A method of formfree printing a three-dimensional object in layers with at least one printing material includes outputting printing material in at least one printing material string in string-shape via at least one printing head; receiving, via a printing platen, at least one printing material string output by the at least one printing head; providing a rod-shaped heating device movably arranged over the printing platen; controlling the rod-shaped heating device, via a heat controller, to emit a heat irradiation directed to the printing platen to heat the at least one printing material string to a reaction temperature to trigger a chemical reaction of the at least one printing material of the at least one printing material string; providing at least one motor coupled to the rod-shaped heating device to move it over the printing platen; and controlling the at least one motor, via a motor controller, to move the rod-shaped heating device over the printing platen to harden the at least one printing material string printed on the printing platen.

Method for formfree printing a three-dimensional object in layers

According to various embodiments, a device for formfree printing a three-dimensional object in layers using at least one printing material includes: at least one printing head to output printing material in at least one printing material string; a printing platen to receive the at least one printing material string output by the at least one printing head; a rod-shaped heating device movably arranged over the printing platen; a heat controller configured to control the rod-shaped heating device to emit a heat irradiation directed to the printing platen to heat the at least one printing material string; at least one motor coupled to the rod-shaped heating device to move it over the printing platen; a motor controller configured to control the at least one motor to move the rod-shaped heating device over the printing platen to harden the at least one printing material string printed on the printing platen.

Device for formfree printing a three-dimensional object in layers

A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The liquid curable silicone elastomer composition comprises an organopolysiloxane (A) containing at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, an organopolysiloxane (B) containing at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a platinum based catalyst (C), an inhibitor (D), and a silica filler (E). The organopolysiloxane (B) is a branched (or resinous) polymer, contains M siloxy units, and the at least three silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms are present on the M siloxy units. The inhibitor (D) is selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives. The inhibitor (D) is present in the liquid curable silicone elastomer composition in an amount to provide a molar ratio&#x2014;of the inhibitor (D) to platinum in the catalyst (C)&#x2014;of from 150 to 900 (150:1 to 900:1).

Low temperature cure silicone elastomer

A method of forming a three-dimensional (3D) article comprises the steps of I) printing a first heat-curable silicone composition with a 3D printer to form a layer, II) heating the layer to form an at least partially cured layer, III) printing a second heat-curable silicone composition on the at least partially cured layer with the 3D printer to form a subsequent layer, and IV) heating the subsequent layer to form an at least partially cured subsequent layer. Optionally, steps III) and IV) can be repeated with independently selected heat-curable silicone composition(s) for any additional layer(s) to form the 3D article. The first and second heat-curable silicone compositions may be the same as or different from one another.

3D printing method utilizing heat-curable silicone composition

A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The composition comprises: an organopolysiloxane (A) comprising: an organopolysiloxane (A1) containing at least 2 alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atom per molecule and having a total alkenyl content of from 0.01 to 1.5 mmol/g, and an organopolysiloxane (A2) containing at least 2 alkenyl groups bonded to silicon atom per molecule and having a total alkenyl content of from 5.0 to 15.0 mmol/g; an organopolysiloxane (B) comprising an organopolysiloxane (B1) containing at least 2 silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule provided by siloxy units of the type (RHSiO)x where R is independently selected from hydrogen, an aliphatic a hydrocarbyl, an aromatic hydrocarbyl, or an organyl group and x&#x2265;2; a platinum based catalyst (C); an inhibitor (D) selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives; and a silica filler (E).

Curable high hardness silicone composition and composite articles made thereof

A liquid curable silicone elastomer composition is disclosed. The liquid curable silicone elastomer composition comprises an organopolysiloxane (A) containing at least two silicon-bonded alkenyl groups per molecule, an organopolysiloxane (B) containing at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms per molecule, a platinum based catalyst (C), an inhibitor (D), and a silica filler (E). The organopolysiloxane (B) is a branched polymer, contains M siloxy units, and the at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen atoms are present on the M siloxy units. The inhibitor (D) is selected from the group consisting of acetylenic alcohols and their derivatives. The inhibitor (D) is present in the liquid curable silicone elastomer composition in an amount to provide a molar ratio of the inhibitor (D) to platinum in the catalyst (C)&#x2014;of from 150 to 900 (150:1 to 900:1).

A process for modifying a silicone elastomeric-based surface of a textile article where the coefficient of friction (COF) of the silicone elastomeric-based surface is generally reduced by at least 5% is disclosed. The process comprises subjecting the silicone elastomeric-based surface of the textile article to vacuum ultraviolet (UV) radiation.
