A grip unit for a suction hose of a vacuum cleaner system defines both air and electrical connections to further components of the system such as a suction pipe, nozzle and the like. The grip unit includes a one-piece insert member which is preassembled and then inserted into a tubular member. The one-piece insert member accommodates all electrical components or accessories and, in the inserted position, this insert member defines a sealed air guide and a channel for the electrical parts. The simplified configuration substantially simplifies assembly and reduces the cost to manufacture the unit.

Grip unit for a suction hose of a vacuum cleaner system

The invention relates to a vacuum cleaner nozzle that is provided with a latching device between the attachment stub and the nozzle housing. These elements are latched together in a defined swivelling range in such a way that they perform a common synchronized swivelling movement. The elements can be unlatched again by overcoming the action of a spring-loaded latching bolt.

A bristle component is disclosed for a floor cleaning nozzle for vacuum cleaners. The bristle component includes a bristle holding strip mounted to the housing of the nozzle. The holding strip is provided with downwardly extending bristles at the corners or sides of the housing which are longer than the remaining bristles held therein. These longer bristles extend laterally from the sides of the housing as the nozzle is moved along the floor and sweep away dust from the floor in a corner defined by the floor and a surface extending upwardly from the floor such as the wall of a room or the like.

A modular step-up gear transmission is interposed between the brush and the air turbine which runs in the suction air stream. The attachment nozzle includes an outer ring region wherein a plurality of air-inlet apertures are formed which are covered either partially or entirely by means of a ring-shaped body which is rotatably mounted on the end portion of the housing. A cup-shaped recess is formed centrally of the plurality of air inlet openings and defines a cup-shaped recess for receiving the modular gear transmission therein.

A drive unit for a cleaning device includes a pivotable drive member which is rigidly secured to a shaft imparting a working motion to a working tool brush of the cleaning device and worm gear unit operatively interconnected between a drive shaft of the drive used for the cleaning device and the pivotable drive member and provided with an eccentric rotatable with the worm gear of the worm unit and a guide engageable with a pin secured to the drive member for translating the rotational movement of the drive shaft to the shaft of the tool brush.
