A method for preparing a laser marking system to create a colored laser mark on a specimen by providing a laser marking system and a specimen comprising a surface layer, where the laser marking system has a preset number of laser parameters, and performing an exploration of a first gamut specified by the laser marking system and the specimen. The method further generally comprises creating a design space with a preset number of design points; performing a marking of a sample on the specimen for each design point; measuring the sample using at least one detection device and determining a performance point for each design point; evaluating the performance space with regard to preset performance criteria using an evaluation device; generating an offspring design space with offspring design points; and creating a first gamut using a subset of performance points.

The invention relates to a method for transmitting 3D model data, the 3D model data comprising polygons, from a server to a client for rendering, the method comprising: obtaining the 3D model data by the server; and transmitting the 3D model data from the server to the client. Robust three-dimensional shape acquisition method and system

A variety of methods, devices and storage mediums are implemented for creating digital representations of figures. According to one such computer implemented method, a volumetric representation of a figure is correlated with an image of the figure. Reference points are found that are common to each of two temporally distinct images of the figure, the reference points representing movement of the figure between the two images. A volumetric deformation is applied to the digital representation of the figure as a function of the reference points and the correlation of the volumetric representation of the figure. A fine deformation is applied as a function of the coarse/volumetric deformation. Responsive to the applied deformations, an updated digital representation of the figure is generated.

Systems, methods and devices for motion capture using video imaging

A method and apparatus for encoding high dynamic range video by means of video compression is shown. The method comprises the steps of providing high dynamic range  (HDR) tristimulus color data (XYZ) for each frame of the video and threshold versus intensity data for a human observer; constructing a perceptually conservative luminance transformation from continuous luminance data (Y) to discrete values (L) using said threshold versus intensity data for the human observer; transforming the HDR tristimulus color data into perceptually linear color data of three color channels (L, u', v&#x2032;) for obtaining visually lossless compressed frames; estimating motion vector of said consecutive frames of the video and compensating the difference of the tristimulus color data for performing an inter-frame encoding and an inter-frame compression; transforming the compensated differences of the tristimulus color data to frequency space data; quantizing said frequency space data; variable-length encoding of the quantized frequency space data and storing or transmitting a stream of visual data resulting from the encoded quantized frequency space data.
