Apparatus for controlling the temperature of a cooking location of a cooking unit includes a temperature sensor having an outer tube and an inner rod received within the tube and having a different coefficient of expansion, a switch base operatively connected to the temperature sensor and carrying electric contacts actuated by the temperature sensor, and an igniter connected to the temperature sensor and/or switch base.

Combined temperature limiter and igniter

A temperature sensor includes a spring-biased tube of relatively low thermal expansion and a rod arranged in the tube and having relatively high thermal expansion for cooperation with a contact mechanism to control a heat-operated system. Secured to the tube on one end thereof which is proximate to the contact mechanism is a substantially hemispherical end piece for placement in a concave receptacle that is arched in direction of the contact mechanism and traversed by the rod.

Temperature sensor with improved adjustment mobility

A temperature control device includes; a spring-biased stem guided in a p and having a temperature expansion coefficient which is different from the temperature expansion coefficient of the pipe, with the stem acting via a plunger and a switch assembly upon a switching contact. The switch assembly includes a switch spring of bridge-like configuration which is secured to a backing spring mounted to a base plate of the housing and preferably includes a raised central part for support of the plunger.

A multiple thermostat assembly includes a plurality of thermostats which grouped together to form a structural unit, with each thermostat including a base plate. The base plates of neighboring thermostats are joined together by plastically deformable adjusting elements in form of U-shaped mountings, webs or pins for allowing a positional adjustment between neighboring base plates relative to each other.
