A work plate arrangement () including a work plate () and a hot plate (), the hot plate () being inserted in a recess () of the work plate (). In order to provide a work plate arrangement () which also enables a wok to be used for cooking purposes in a simple manner, the hot plate () is provided with a shell () which is made of a glass ceramic material and which protrudes into the recess () of the work plate (), the shell being used to receive a wok and having a heating device arranged thereunder ().
