Methods and apparatus controlling the alignment between refining surfaces of opposite refining discs are disclosed which are relatively rotatable and which are incorporated in a refiner for disintegrating and refining lignocellulose-containing material in a refining gap between the refining surfaces. The disclosed method includes positioning at least three sensors at least three measurement positions, measuring the vibrations at each of the measurement positions during refiner operation, and comparing each of the measured vibrations at each of the measurement positions with each other. The apparatus disclosed includes at least three sensors disposed in at least three predetermined measurement positions, each of the sensors comprising a vibration sensor disposed on a refining disc for measuring the vibrations at the measurement positions whereby measuring can take place during operation of the refiner and a comparator for comparing the measurements of the measurement positions to provide a comparison therebetween.

Method and a device for controlling the alignment between refining surfaces

A method and apparatus for measuring stress forces in refiners is disclosed. In the method, a measuring surface which is a portion of at least one refining surface containing at least a portion of the bars extending across that surface is resiliently mounted in the refining surface, and the stress forces are measured perpendicular to the measuring surface.

Method and a device for measuring stress forces in refiners

Methods of measuring stress forces in refiners are disclosed in which the refiners include refining disks with a refining surface and refining bars extending across the refining surface, as well as a measuring surface comprising a portion of the refining surface, the measuring surface being movably mounted on the surface of at least one of the refining disks and a pair of rigidly mounted force sensors for producing oppositely directed deflections when the measuring surface is influenced by stress forces, the method comprising resiliently mounting the measuring surface in a direction parallel to the surface of the refining disk and calculating the stress force based on the difference between the deflections measured by the respective pairs of the force sensors. Apparatus measuring stress forces in such refiners are also disclosed.

Methods and apparatus for measuring the stress forces in refining disks are disclosed. The method includes providing a measuring surface comprising at least a portion of a plurality of refiner bars on the refining surface of a refining disk, resiliently mounting the measuring surface in the refiner surface, and measuring the stress forces across the measuring surface.
